Retro Sketches #156

I haven't played at Retro Sketches in a while but when I saw this week's sketch an idea popped into my head immediately.  Here's the sketch.

See those circular lines?  That looks just like my PTI Scribbles die and that's where the whole card began.

My daughter-in-law turns 50 the end of this month and this was the perfect design for her card.  I used some leopard print DP for the background, splitting it and layering it on black cardstock.  I just happened to have some grungeboard letters and numbers so picked out the 50, inked it, embossed with Black Sparkle and popped it up.  You may have to zoom in to see the sparkle.  I cut a tag from My Craft Spot, stamped it with one of their stamps (actually parts of two stamps) and tied on a little embroidery floss.  I think she'll love this.

Thanks for stopping by.  Your visits and comments are always appreciated.

  1. Okay, hold it a minute here...your daughter-in-law turns 50? Bobby, I have you pegged as barely being 50 yourself! Are you sure? That's round #1 of 'in awe'. Round #2 is your card! The leopard print, the scribbles, the 50...she will love this! Sooo pretty (no, can't be over 50!)

  2. I'm with Carol. You must have gotten married when you were 6, I swear! Your dil will love this card. That leopard print is just so much fun, and I can see the sparklies too. You've nailed this sketch perfectly. Love it! HB to your dil, btw. Bev

  3. What a cool card, Bobby! Love that scribbles die with the 50 in the center!

  4. I'm with Carol and Bev too, Bobby ... just. not. possible! What fun DP ... perfect with the cool black panel and the shimmery numbers ... love how you added the wee tag! I'm thinking the scribbles die has been liquid platinum-d ... it's gorgeous! Anita :)
