October CAS Mix Up Challenge

I wanted to make a card for the CAS Mix Up Challenge in the worst way but was having trouble deciding what stencils went together and how to layer them.  A few nights ago I spend the evening working on a card, getting really inky in the process, and was finally happy with it.

The next morning I awoke with the realization that the card I worked so hard on was not CAS at all. AND the stamps weren't layered.  I read that little tidbit later. (Head slap to the forehead)  Now what do I do?  I figured there must be a way to make another card using the same elements but in a clean and simple way.  Behold the new card.
I smooshed a panel of mixed media paper with DOXs in autumn colors, then layered the TH 'Striped' stencil for trees trunks with the CP Marching Leaves stencil, inking them up with the same DOX.  I had already cut the frame for another card that didn't work out but it fit this panel perfectly.  The sentiment is from HA.

Do you want to see the original card?  Well, if you insist.
I send Thanksgiving cards to the homebound members of my church and I think I have enough and it isn't even Halloween yet.  Speaking of, I'd better get a few more of those cards done to send to my grandkids.

Thanks for dropping by.  I love it when you do.

I do cards all the time then realize it doesn't work for the challenge for one reason or another! You mastered this though! Love how the stencils make a forest! Great colors! Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up!

Love how you've taken the original and made it into a CAS version, Bobby. Both are so beautiful with the mix of DOX inks you've used. And great job with layering two stencils. Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up! xx

This is absolute GENIUS!!! Doing the Oxides in that way and then just adding the "trunks" to make the whole thing look like trees is beyond creative. I love this card so much....truly a work of art!

I love the rich layering effect that you have created on your autumnal card, Bobby! I have just got my first distress oxides this week and am looking forward to having a play with them - your card has given me just the inspiration that I need :)

They're both deliciously artsy and autumnal, Bobby ... my CAS loving heart is tending towards the first with that delicious crisp white frame that really draws the eye to the cool background! Hugs, Anita :)
