Summer is upon us and for the June challenge at The Flower Challenge we want you to use embossing, either heat or dry.
I saw this fabulous card by Debby Hughes and tried to make one similar. She used watercolor pencils and got a little more differentiation in color while mine is more subtle.
I started by smooshing a panel of watercolor paper with Speckled Egg and Lost Shadow Distress Ink, spraying until it was well blended. I ran it through the Magnolia Dream embossing folder that was a gift with purchase from Altenew. The flowers and leaves were watercolored with Kitsch Flamingo and Evergreen Bough DI. When it was dry, the panel was cut down, splattered with Hero Arts Unicorn Spray and added to a gray card base. That same gray was used for the BetterPress sentiment.

Bobby, you chose your EF well, and captured Debby's technique using it beautifully!
Duh! I never even thought about using one of [multitudes] of floral efs in my stash!

Bobby this is such a pretty card I love the soft tones you have achieved with your smooshing it reminds me of vintage wallpaper and it works beautifully with the grey card.

Gorgeous card and colors Bobby. Love the pretty embossing folder you used. Your soft colors really add to the design.
I LOVE these pink magnolias, Bobby! Doing the embossing on a smooshed background is a great idea! I need to try that.
Your soft and subtle colors are amazing! Love this -- the beauty speaks loud and clear
What a great technique for an embossing folder! I know people have colored images with different mediums, but getting the background first before embossing takes to a whole different level. Your card is absolutely gorgeous, Bobby! I love the soft water coloring and the bp sentiment on gray.
Gorgeous card Bobby. Love the soft colours paired with gray. xx
