Just Us Girsl #814 - Word Week

Hello, Friends!  I'm the host of Just Us Girls for Word Week and my word is

Emboss can mean several things so you do what you do best whether heat emboss or dry emboss.  As for me, I dry embossed with a new technique that I learned in a Jennifer McGuire class at Simon Says Stamp.

It started with glossy cardstock and an embossing folder called Tiny Flora.  After embossing, I rubbed CP ink in Sweet Sixteen, Garden Party and Mint to Be lightly over the raised areas and then wiped it off.  I used the same Sweet Sixteen over an embossed piece of vellum.  Then it was putting the two pieces together.  First I cut the glossy panel at an angle and then cut three other pieces of white cardstock in the same shape.  Next I folded the vellum in half carefully to keep it from splitting.

Glue the glossy panel to the vellum using an A2 panel to get the correct size.   Glue one of the white pieces to the back of the glossy panel and then repeat for the back of the card.

To finish it off, I cut a strip of white and one of silver to run across where the two papers meet.  The die cut sentiment is from SSS cut in silver with a shadow in white.   Here's a side view of the completed card.

Will you try something new or return to a tried and true technique for your card?  Check out the wonderful cards from our Design Team and guest Milla for plenty of inspiration.  See you in the gallery.
