A You See It #350 - Triptych

I put together a card for the sketch challenge at As You See It - Triptych.

For the three images I used one of TH Wildflower dies in Kraft, which went well with the striped paper from Honey Bee.  I trimmed the panel to let the navy cardstock show and added the Betterpress sentiment also in navy.  This will work well for a masculine card.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a great week!

As You See It #348

I had a leftover piece of embossed watercolor paper in with the frame die and used it to make a card for As You See It - Spots or Stripes.  I wasn't sure if embossed spots were what they were looking for until I saw DT member Joanne's card.

The Penny Black frame aperture had already been cut from it so I cut another piece for the actual frame in addition to two other layers.  For some reason the panel was short for an A2 card so I cut the bottom off the card base.  The center was used to stamp the PB Love Blooms flower that was watercolored with Distress Inks.  The sentiment is from Spellbinders.

As You See It #342

As You See It has a perfect challenge for me.  For the birds!  I have a great love of birds and feed my friends every day.

I'm not particularly happy when these birds descend upon my feeders though.  They are large and have a big appetite.  But I thought it would be easy to make Altenew's Bird of the Mountain into a red-winged blackbird.  Then I had to figure out what to do with him.  Enter Honey Bee's Fall Foliage.  These birds like to hang out along the roadside where cattails are growing.  I had to improvise with the leaves since none are in the set and the scene looked bare without them.  A look through some of my flower dies brought me the stems from Altenew's Cosmos.  It's all on a panel lightly inked with Speckled Egg Distress Ink.

As You See It #341

I don't think I've ever played in the As You See It challenge before but after seeing my friend Michele as the guest designer, I decided to play along.  The board below shows the five items you must include on your card.

For the pastel portion I stamped the cocktails from Newton's Nook in VersaFine gray , heat embossed them (another requirement), colored them with Zigs, and die cut them.  I heat embossed a celebration sentiment from the set, cut it with a PFS label, punched holes and attached with gray and white twine.  This all takes place on a panel cut with a die from MFT.

Here's to you for dropping by my blog.  I appreciate it and the comments.
