Just Us Girls #642 - Photo Week

Sue has an interesting photo to inspire us for Photo Week at Just Us Girls.

The first thing I though of was my Leaf Canopy set from Altnew and used that to make my card.

The leaves were stamped in green on waterecolor paper, clear heat embossed and colored with Distress Inks.  As usual I had trouble with the sentiment but I finally got this one from Hello Beautiful by Altnew to stamp correctly on a scrap of paper and glued it over the offending one.   I found two pieces of coordinating cardstock to add borders.   This one was a struggle but I'm somewhat satisfied.

What inspires you in that photo?  The Design Team and our guest Fran Wing have their ideas for you to see on the blog.

CAS(E) This Sketch #403

Have you heard the announcement about CAS(E) This Sketch? They are closing their doors at the end of January.  I was so sad to hear this because it is one challenge that I regularly play in.  That said I HAVE to play in these last two even though I'm away at my brother's river house for two months and only brought limited stamp supplies with me.  I  hope this will do.

For the lines on the sketch I lightly dragged a gray mini-cube across my paper in two places then dragged up for a little more definition.  Altenew's Leaf Canopy was stamped in two shades of green and the Altenew sentiment was stamped in the same gray I used for the lines.  The photography isn't the best and I keep struggling with it.  I even got a new iPhone that I thought would help which means it's me and not the camera. ;)  At the same time I'm struggling with a Chromebook which is what my laptop is and even though it's a Google product as is Blogger I'm having a little trouble navigating them.  By the time my two months are up I should know it a lot better.  Add to that the fact that I'm working from my hot spot and it doesn't want to connect most of the time, you may not see me here except for all my pre-scheduled posts.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you have a struggle free day and some sunshine in your life.

CAS Mix-Up April

I love all the techniques that we get to learn and use on the CAS Mix-Up Challenge.  This month it's layered embossing and you can see videos on their blog.  It was a little challenging for me because I mainly have metallic embossing powders which would work if you have the right image.  I do have a couple of colored ones that I got on clearance at the grocery store and an old Verdigris one that I love.  Put them together and you get this.
The leaves are from Altenew and I stuck them into a frame that I made with two MFT dies, a scalloped and plain oval.  The sentiment from My Craft Spot (oob) is gold heat embossed.

I'm playing catch up after a busy week and this one is just about as busy.  Thanks for dropping by.  I hope your week goes well.
