Just Us Girls #772 - Stencil Week

It's Stencil Week at Just Us Girls with our host Ina.

I had the Cosmos Backdrop BetterPress from Spellbinders just itching to make a card.  So I made two.

This one was pressed with VersaFine Toffee ink and stenciled with Distress Inks in Scattered Straw, Spiced Marmalade, Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint and Brushed Corduroy.  The panel is bordered with Lawn Fawn Fake Tan and the sentiment, also a BetterPress in Toffee, was stacked for dimension.

This one was pressed with VersaFine Smokey Gray and inked with Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Everygreen Bough, Pine Needles and Hickory Smoke Distress Inks.  The stacked sentiment is another one from Spellbinders. The border is PTI Raspberry Fizz.

The stencil challenge is one of the favorites so I hope you'll join us.  For inspiration, please check out the blog to see what the Design Team did.

Christmas Kickstart #97 - Positively Poinsettias

Jo asked me to be her elf at Christmas Kickstart for April.  I can't tell you how excited I was to get that invitation.  I also got to pick the theme for this month's challenge and this is it.

I don't know about you but I have a number of poinsettia stamps and dies so I thought it would be good to let you use yours to get a kickstart on your Christmas cards.  Here's mine.

This is a BetterPress plate from Spellbinders called Festive Poinsettias. It works beautifully as a hot foil plate that covers the background so you can use the available stencils to color in the image.  The sentiment is from  Pinkfresh Studio's Basic Banners, heat embossed in silver.  I really had to search for a place to take the photo since the foil background wanted to reflect a range of different colors.  It worked best standing up.

Now it's your turn to make a card featuring poinsettias.  Please be sure to read the challenge guidelines on the blog.  I'll be back on the 15th with another card to inspire you.  I'd love to see your card in the gallery.

Time Out #278

Happy Holidays!  That's the theme for this challenge at Time Out.

For my card I used what I made with the very first outing of my BetterPress machine using Spellbinders Christmas Greetings.

The design was pressed into cotton paper with BetterPress ink and then colored with Distress Inks. The sentiment is included in the set.  I've learned a lot about the system since this inaugural card but I'm still still happy with how it turned out.

Gina K is the sponsor for this challenge and will be awarding our winner a $25 store credit.  Please check out what the Design Team and our guests have made to inspire you to include a card in our challenge.
