Just Us Girls #596 - Word Week

I'm hosting Just Us Girls this week and the word for the week is:

This is the time of year when fruit crops are ready for picking and so I've included some on my card.

Don't those apples, peaches and pear look wonderful on a black background?  I love those stamps from Sunny Studio.  They are so realistic looking.  The sentiment is from Altenew.

What crops will you feature on your card?  You will be making one, right?  For inspiration please be sure to check out what the Design Team and our guest designer Claire have made.

Color Hues #22

Time for another Color Hues challenge and this time it's

Sometimes I like these colors on Christmas cards but since I have few Christmas stamps with me I had to go with flowers.  Not again you say?  Better get used to it.  lol  Flowers are what I do.

For my flowers I stamped Altenew's Canterbury Bells in Altenew inks adding a little shading with PolyChromos pencils.  I just got a background die from Jillian Vance and used it for some texture.  I had a little trouble cutting it out but made it work, covering the worst parts with the flowers and sentiment.

Thanks for dropping by.

Color Hues #17

Red and orange.  That a bright and cheery color combination and one that Color Hues wants us to use on our cards.  I aim to please.

I just had to have this three layer stencil from The Greetery and only used it once so thought it was time to get it out again.  It was inked using Distress Inks: first layer Crackling Campfire, second Carved Pumpkin and the third a lighter version of the first.  No need to tell me the darkest color should be the overlap.  I just didn't plan the colors well but I loved the results so I carried on. A couple of die cut flowers layered up and a sentiment on an Altenew label die was all I needed to finish it off.

TIME OUT #101

Isn't that a fabulous quote?  It's the inspiration for the challenge at TIME OUT.  There are so many ways to go with it but I went with this:
I think if you enjoy the simple things the rest is just gravy.  The poppies are from the EH/A United We Flourish set with a couple of Altenew leaves thrown in for good measure.

Now I'm going to enjoy a little play time in my craft room.  Thanks for dropping by.
