Just Us Girls #648 - Word Week

It's Word Week at Just Us Girls and the word chosen by Sue is

I happen to have a basket die from PTI so this challenge was a no-brainer. I only had to decide what to put in it.

I went with what I think are some of the most realistic fruit stamps from Sunny Studio, stamping out pears, peaches and an apple.  After stamping the sentiment from Hero Arts, I embossed the background with Altenew's Organic Linen folder.

I want to welcome Julie Beech as our guest designer this month.  She and the rest of the Design Team have plenty of baskets to inspire you.

Just Us Girls #596 - Word Week

I'm hosting Just Us Girls this week and the word for the week is:

This is the time of year when fruit crops are ready for picking and so I've included some on my card.

Don't those apples, peaches and pear look wonderful on a black background?  I love those stamps from Sunny Studio.  They are so realistic looking.  The sentiment is from Altenew.

What crops will you feature on your card?  You will be making one, right?  For inspiration please be sure to check out what the Design Team and our guest designer Claire have made.

Twofer Card Challenge #24

You know how you buy stamps because you love them and then don't use them right away?  That's the way I felt about the Squeeze the Day set by EbyE.  Well I found a reason to break it out - the Twofer Challenge and their word prompt.
I used the set, including the punny sentiments, to make both lemons and limes, coloring them with Altenew watercolors.
The lemons were die cut and some of them popped up with foam tape for my encouragement card.
For the birthday card I did all over stamping and then added some light spatters.  It's the little image with the leaf that you can find on both cards.

Thanks for another fun challenge, Twofer Team.

Tag You're It! #91

We have a luscious inspiration photo for you at Tag You're It!
Since it's Cherry Festival time in northern Michigan I decided to make cherries my summer fruit.
I stamped a background grid from HA onto a scrap of white cs and cut my Frantic Stamper tag, adding a polka dot top. The cherries from Sunny Studio are layered with Altenew ink and covered with Glossy Accents.  A PB sentiment and some red ribbon finish the tag off.

The Design Team would love to see what summer fruit(s) you use for your tag.

CAS(E) This Sketch #323

It's retro sketch time at CAS(E) This Sketch
and the first go around I made this -
with this sketch.
I didn't think about it until now but
how crazy is it that I stuck with the fruit theme.
The layered berries are from Sunny Studio and the sentiment from PB.  I placed them on an embossed background and then thought it needed something to add more of the blue and purple so I inked a thin strip of paper to run down the side. Oh and I added some Glossy Accents to the cherries and blueberry.

Thanks for dropping by.

CASology #325

It's a new year and my head is bubbling over with card ideas.  I just have to make sure to keep the challenge deadlines straight once I get a number of cards done all at once.  Tiny post-it notes come in handy believe me.  Today's card is for CASology and their cue word "Fresh".
Trying to eat more healthy in the new year, the first thing that came to mind is fresh fruit and these Sunny Studio fruits look so realistic.  I added a sentiment from MFT to ground them,

I love it when you drop by.  I hope you leave a comment when you do.

Addicted to CAS #143

I'm hosting at Addicted to CAS for this challenge and my code word is
One of the things I like about summer is the abundance of berries - strawberries, blueberries, raspberries (black and red), just to name a few.  I've included them all on my card.
The fruit is a layering set from Sunny Studio and I placed them on a MFT scalloped oval that was mounted on a panel embossed with a basket weave folder.  I generated the sentiment on my computer.

Check out the cards made by our Design Team and guest designer AsaJ.  I hope they inspire you to make one of your own.

Time Out #24

It's not always easy to CASE someone's card, especially if you don't want to be too literal.  It may be even more difficult if you're to put your own twist on it.  Well folks, that's the challenge at TIME OUT this time.  Kylie of Addicted to Stamps  and Addicted to CAS has given us a lovely card to draw inspiration from.

I love the embossed background and the bright flowers.  So how did I twist it?  I used fruit instead.

I have a lot of flower stamps but not many that have dies and not being one for a lot of fussy cutting I decided to go another way - use my Cricut to do the cutting for me.  Okay, if I'm going to do that, why not cut something different.  For those of you who don't know much about the Cricut, which is an electronic cutting machine, you usually cut and layer colored (or printed) paper.  Not me.  I decided to cut from my regular Neenah Solar White and then watercolor the grapes with Distress Ink.  Truth be told, I also used my Cricut to cut the tag,  Actually I set up a number of tags and cut them all so I'd have a stash for other cards.  I thought the sentiment from Penny Black fit the image (get it?).  While going through some of my mother's sewing supplies I found a spool of wired thread that was perfect for grapevines so I added that to some twine.  The basket weave ef is from Lifestyle Crafts.

Whew, that was long winded.  If you only look at the pictures, that's fine.  I'm just glad you stopped by.
