Just Us Girls #813 - Die Week

Sue is the host for Die Week at Just Us Girls and this time she has a specific topic.

She wants you to include either something green, something referring to luck or maybe a combination of both while using your dies.

I want to welcome Milla as our guest designer for the month of March.  Be sure to stop by her blog at Mustesormi to see her wonderful coloring.

I smooshed a panel with Rustic Wilderness, Mowed Lawn and Bundled Sage Distress Oxides and cut it with Penny Black's Classy Frames.  Their Ascending die was colored with Distress Spray in Rustic Wilderness and they were both splattered in gold paint from Altenew.  The frame was cut three more times, once in gold and layered around the panel.  The gold embossed sentiment is from Honey Bee's Gently Squeezed.

There are a lot of greens and die cuts over on the Just Us Girls blog post to inspire you.  We hope to see you in our gallery.

I'm also sending this to Color Hues for their green and gold challenge.

Time Out #308- Happy 12th Birthday!

That's right.  Time Out is 12 years old.  You can read about its start on the blog.  For this challenge we welcome Stef Perry as our muse and she has created a card for all of us to CASE.

Here's a closer look.

Stef does a beautiful job of coloring flowers and while she used alcohol markers for hers, I went with a different medium.

It all started with gold embossing Hello Beautiful from Altenew and then using the stencils to color the flowers. The background panel was trimmed down and embossed with the Time Worn Type folder by SU.  Before adding it to a C9 Nutmeg card base, a few gold splatters were added.  The sentiment is from BetterPress foiled in gold.

We hope you will CASE Stef's card for the challenge  Please be sure to tell us how you were inspired.

Time Out #233

This week at Time Out we challenge you to be Elegant.

I struggled with my card.  Not because I can't do elegant but because according to Murphy's Law everything than can go wrong will.  I won't bore you with the details. Let's just say I kept going and ended up with a not too shabby card.

Altenew is our sponsor for this challenge and I used their Garden Rose Craft-a-Flower dies. This is actually my second attempt at purple flowers. I didn't like where the petals were supposed to go so on this version I moved the smaller pieces. Everything was cut from medium purple and inked in the center with Villianous Poison Distress Ink.  To add that touch of elegance, the edges were touched with TH Foundry Wax in gold. The leaves from Altenew's Cosmos CAF were cut from a matte gold.  I thought it needed more so I used some Distress Spray in Tarnished Brass to splatter by removing the plugged nozzle and flicking it on with a brush. The spray ended up looking more white on the flowers but what could I do?

What does the word Elegant mean to you?  The Design Team has plenty of inspiration for you. We hope you'll join us for this challenge.
