Double D - Fresh Picked & NBUS #50

Double D has a Fresh Picked challenge.  Anything fresh picked except flowers.  Flowers are my 'thing'  but I did have other images I could use. Like these pears.

I recently got the wooden crate from Honey Bee and was anxious to try it out.  I cut it from Linen cs and dragged Distress Ink over it to enhance the wood grain.   The pears are from Sunny Studio and so is the sentiment which I stamped crooked because I wasn't sure I could get it in a straight line, and I rather like it that way.

Since the crate is new I'm sending my card to NBUS #50.

Thanks for dropping by.

Just Us Girls #340

I'm the hostess over at Just Us Girls this week for a photo inspiration of my choosing.  I picked it because there are so many elements that you can use for your card.  What captures your attention?
I focused on the pink lemonade and pears.  Yes, there are pears in the picture.
The jar and lime are from PTI and the pears from WPlus9, all colored with Distress Inks.  The sentiment is from My Craft Spot.    I also added a little Pico Embellisher to make condensation on the jar.
Now it's your turn.  Head on over to Just Us Girls to see what the rest of the design team and our guest designer Angie Cimbalo have for your inspiration.  If you are picked as Chic of the Week, you may be eligible for a guest designer spot, too.

See you in the gallery.

Inkspirational #100

Woohoo!  Congratulations to Inkspirational on their 100th challenge.  They've invited Kylie from HLS to be their guest designer and she's offering a gift certificate to her Happy Little Stampers Shop for one randomly chosen winner. For this one they want you to pick a color challenge from the past to make a card.  I chose #18, green, peach and purple.

You can imagine my surprise when the first day of the Watercolor Online Card Class had us painting pears.  This card was already done and I wasn't about to do it over but at least I do know how to paint better pears now. ;) I die cut the WPlus9 pears from watercolor paper and colored them with Distress Ink.  I wanted the same feel for my purple so I took a scrap of wc paper and inked it up with a lot of water.  The sentiment was computer generated.

Thanks for dropping by.

CAS(E) This Sketch #142

I've had a busy couple of days but I did manage to take a few minutes this afternoon and make a quick card for CAS(E) This Sketch.

There were so many ways to go with this sketch and deciding took longer than making the card.  I finally went with my WPlus9 Pears.

I got the little sets of Altenew inks, mainly for layering their flowers, but they worked great for these sketchy pears.  The sentiment from PB is stamped in Delicata Gold.

I'm glad you dropped by.

CASology # 154

I'm back from my almost two week stint as a teen sitter and house rescuer.  I didn't experience card withdrawal symptoms because I did do a little playing with my Zig clear brush pens and although I didn't dream of cards while I was gone, I did get an idea almost immediately for the new challenge at CASology - cue word "Repeat".  Thank you, Mr. Mojo!

My NBUS pear stamp from WPlus9 came into play for a subtly repeated background stamped with VersaMark Dazzle ink on Ripe Avocado cardstock.  The WPlus9 pear die added a simple element to my computer generated sentiment and I have an anniversary card ready to go.

I'm trying to get back into the swing of things.  I couldn't get my son's iMac to accept my Google account and let me comment on blogs so I gave up on visiting you.  I did a few on my phone but that was such a hassle.  I will try to get around to you as soon as possible.  I have seen some of the wonderful things you've done and I want to let you know that.
___________________________

I must say it was an interesting time away, with kids coming and going at all hours.  We only ate three meals together the entire time.  I did get to spend quality time talking with each one, something I haven't been able to do in a long time. They will be seniors next year, with even busier schedules, so who knows when I will get an opportunity like this again. Here's a picture of the 4 of us, taken as I was about to leave.  The girls had just gotten back from a workout and Kyle had just gotten up so it's a very casual photo to say the least.  That's Abby on the left and Emily between Kyle and me.  I'm wearing the lace scarf that was my gift from Greece.

Thanks for stopping by.  You know I appreciate you all for your visits, comments, and support.
