Addicted to CAS #285 and Krafty Chicks #773

I was lucky enough to win the Addicted to CAS Floral challenge with this card, and as it is my policy, I made a card for the subsequent challenge - water.  This one was more of a . . .challenge.  😅

Once I knew I could make a scene with Spellbinders Coastal View Escape I tried several versions before I came up with my final card.  The background was inked with Caribbean Sky and placed behind a panel cut with MFT's Wonky Peekaboo die.  The trees and island were cut from cardstock and shaded with Altenew inks.  The sentiment is from Altenew.

I am also sending this to Krafty Chicks for their CAS week challenge.

Thanks for dropping by.  I do hope your day is fabulous!

ETA: I just noticed that AAA Cards is having a CAS challenge.  I'm sending this without the twist.

CAS Christmas June - Bells

I got out my favorite bell stamp to make a card for CAS Christmas.
Sunny Studio makes one that looks pretty realistic to me although adding the Glossy Accents to it may have tarnished it a little.  After embossing a panel, I cut a window in it using MFT's peekaboo die and put the branch from the SS set behind it, tying the bell on with silver thread.  The sentiment from PB is stamped in one of the grays used on the bell.

I'm so glad you dropped by.  Have a great weekend!

Addicted to CAS #145

That's it.  Addicted to CAS's code word as chosen by our host Carolyn.  What does 'tweet' mean to you?  My first thought was birds and my second thought was a sentiment using the actual word.  I just happen to have a stamp set that includes both.
To keep it clean and simple I cut the center of my panel with the MFT peek-a-boo die and then stamped the MFT birds so just their heads showed.  They are colored with Zigs with Pico Embellisher added to their eyes.

The Design Team is anxious to see what you do with the code word.  Can we count on you entering a tweet card for the challenge?

CAS Mix-Up - June

I started to post this card for CAS Mix-Up yesterday and then saw that I forgot one of the important parts of the challenge - the stamping.
Fortunately I was able to correct that mistake without too much trouble.
I watched all the videos on layered embossing and the easiest would have been to do multiple layers on a die cut image but I wanted to play around.  I started with some UTEE thinking that would help blend other powders better, especially since those powders were some cheapies I got at a grocery store on clearance.  I actually put on too much UTEE but it was fun sprinkling on the other colors and watch them move with just my heat gun.  The pink is just light purple and the yellowish is really gold glitter.  Once I had the piece done I wasn't sure what to do with it but the MFT peek-a-boo die is great to show off panels like this.  I added the die cut word in purple foil, layered up on other cs. The sentiment from HA worked out beautifully to fulfill the stamping portion.

Thank you to the Mix-Up team for teaching us new techniques.  I had fun with this one and want to try it again.

Addicted to Stamps and More #279

Here's another Addicted to Stamps and More challenge for those of you who love a clean and simple card.  Here's mine.
I did this a while ago right after I got the darling Gerda Steiner dogs and it was just waiting for a challenge.  He's colored with Zigs and popped into an MFT peekaboo cut.

The Design Team has some fabulous cards to inspire you and we hope you'll make a clean and simple card for our gallery.

Less Is More #344

I love lime green and blue together so I had to play along with Less Is More this week.
I had a scrap left over from a tissue paper technique done in blue and green. I darkened the blue with Blueprint Sketch Distress Ink and put it behind the MFT peekaboo die.  The same DI was used to color some cardstock for the PB die and to stamp the sentiment from Altenew.

Thanks for dropping by.  I love it when you do.

CAS Mix Up August

I'm back from the lake for a few days so I had a little time to make a card for the CAS Mix Up Challenge.  I only have a few alcohol inks but that's all I needed.
I watched Loll's video and then used some of the Yupo paper she so generously sent me to try.  It works like a dream for alcohol ink smooshing. I placed a piece of my inked panel behind the MFT peekaboo die and added a poppystamps die in purple.  The sentiment is from HA.

Thanks for dropping by.
