Freshly Made Sketches #716, Can You Handle the Pressure? and Krafty Chicks #798

I've been busy with cookie making and almost forgot about the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  I'm glad I checked on it this morning so I could get a card made in time.

I didn't use my TH Dash Away All die at all this holiday season so I pulled it out and cut it three times in black.  Spellbinder's Cosmic Sky was cut with an MFT circle and stamped and heat embossed with their Brush Splatter Background.  That was placed on a panel embossed with an older 2D snowflake folder from Sizzix.  The sentiment is from Penny Black cut with a Sizzix banner die.

I'm also sending this to Can You Handle the Pressure? where the option is "Any Holiday" and to Krafty Chicks for their Christmas challenge.

Thanks for dropping by and spending a bit of your busy day with me.

Krafty Chicks #785, Peace on Earth #95 and NBUS #78

I was playing around with a new die set and some Honey Bee paper I bought to use with it when I realized the paper matched some Honey Bee dies that I had never used.  I hear others talk about Mount NBUS but I'm usually pretty good about using my new products.  Not in this case.  I'm glad the paper inspired me to play with Honey Bee's Mini Holiday Florals.

The flower was cut from white and shaded with Lost Shadow DI. I added a gold center and placed it over one of the flowers on the DSP .  The branches are cut from dark brown with dark green leaves and berries added.  The sentiment is from PFS.

I'm sending my card to Krafty Chicks - Christmas, Peace on Earth which is always Christmas but I didn't use the mood board colors, and NBUS because all the dies and the patterned paper are new.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a great week!

Christmas Kickstart #101 and Krafty Chicks #781

The other day I did Tim's Funky Floral Wreath.  Today it's his Festive Wreath for Christmas Kickstart and Krafty Chicks - Christmas.

I left off the poinsettia, doubled up on the orange slices and tripled the pine cones to give a more rustic feel to my wreath, including a plaid bow that was also doubled.  The edges of the Honey Bee Deckle Edge and card base were inked with Altenew Vanilla Cream and Sand Dunes.  A BetterPress sentiment in dark green fit inside perfectly.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope your week is off to a good start.

Addicted to CAS #285 and Krafty Chicks #773

I was lucky enough to win the Addicted to CAS Floral challenge with this card, and as it is my policy, I made a card for the subsequent challenge - water.  This one was more of a . . .challenge.  😅

Once I knew I could make a scene with Spellbinders Coastal View Escape I tried several versions before I came up with my final card.  The background was inked with Caribbean Sky and placed behind a panel cut with MFT's Wonky Peekaboo die.  The trees and island were cut from cardstock and shaded with Altenew inks.  The sentiment is from Altenew.

I am also sending this to Krafty Chicks for their CAS week challenge.

Thanks for dropping by.  I do hope your day is fabulous!

ETA: I just noticed that AAA Cards is having a CAS challenge.  I'm sending this without the twist.

Krafty Chicks #772

This is the week for Krafty Chicks Christmas Challenge and since I brought mostly Christmas things to work on this summer, I made them a card.

The truck is from Newton Nook's Destination Christmas, colored with Altenew artist markers, and popped up on a panel cut with MFT's Elegant Rectangles.  A larger rectangle was cut from a tree paper from Echo Park.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.   One more down.  😁

Thanks for dropping by.

Inkspirational #340 and Krafty Chicks # 767

Inkspirational has a seasonal challenge and since I'm behind on my Christmas card making, that's the season I went with.  Christmas also happens to be Krafty Chicks rotation this time.

Susan from Cardmaker's Garret entered this card in the Christmas Kickstart challenge and I loved the vintage feel of it so I CASEd it.  Ivory cardstock from Gina K was cut with Honey Bee's Deckle Edge die and stamped with the poinsettia from Altenew.  The flower was masked to stamp the script background from Penny Black in Antique Linen DI and the panel edged with the same ink.  The poinsettia was watercolored with Distress Inks in Barn Door, Rustic Wilderness and Fossilized Amber.  I was amazed at how well the cardstock took the watercoloring. I did try it out with a scrap in advance. 😌The sentiment is from a freebie SSS, stamped in Altenew Almond Butter.

Thanks so much for dropping by.

Krafty Chicks #686 and Peace On Earth #50

It's been a while since I made anything with the TH Woodlands trees and then I saw a card on Pinterest that Nancy Littrell made 7 years ago.  I'm CASEing Nancy's lovely card.

Nancy's trees were cut from an alcohol panel while mine are from a panel smooshed with Distress Inks.  I also offset the trees to give the appearance of snow and used an embossing folder for the background but a different one than she used.  The gold embossed sentiment is from PinkFresh Studio.

Another one for the stash.  How are you doing with your Christmas cards?

Krafty Chicks #681

This is the week for Krafty Chicks' Christmas challenge.

I got this Concord and 9th Boughs and Holly set last year because I thought the wreath stencils would be great for make multiples.  There is also a background stencil and I used it with Altenew Inks. The stamps and dies that make up the sentiment are add-ons.  It's always great to add one more Christmas card to my stash.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a great week.

Krafty Chicks #672 - Christmas in July

All the Christmas in July challenges should help you get started on your Christmas cards.  I've been making them all along but have another one I made for Krafty Chicks

I used  images from Altenew's Poinsettia and Pine, stamping them in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloring them with Altenew artist markers.   It took a while to arrange everything and I ended up adding more than I had originally stamped.  The sentiment is from their Festive Poinsettia set.

Thanks for dropping by.

52 Christmas Card Throwdown, Peace On Earth #33, Krafty Chicks#650 and NBUS #47

I'm still going strong with my weekly Christmas cards.  I started this one for 52 Christmas Card Throwdown but it also fits the moodboard at Peace on Earth and Christmas Week at Krafty Chicks.

All white cards are lovely but you do need something to add a little dimension and pizazz.  This is a NBUS poinsettia die from TH and all the petal pieces are one die.  Rather than cut another one from glitter paper, I heat embossed those overparts and centers with Glitter powder.  I love how it matches the paper I cut the pine branches from.  To add even more dimension, the panel was embossed with the Pine Needles folder.

Since this is a new die I'm sending my card to NBUS, where everyone can post their never before used stuff.

Thanks for dropping by.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #505

There are 5 Thursdays in April so I got to make a fifth card as a guest designer for Krafty Chicks Challenge.  The fifth week is always Anything Goes and since I need more Easter cards that's what I made.
It's not a very Easter-y Easter card but I thought the Spring colors would work well for one.  I used the C9 Fill-in Bloom stamp and although it looks blue here, the background is actually HA Soft Lilac.  The rest of the colors are from Altenew, the sentiment from Jillian Vance and the die cut from The Greetery.

I want to thank Nance and the rest of the Design Team at Krafty Chicks for having me as their guest this month.  It's been a great experience and introduced me to a new challenge that I will be playing in whenever I can.  How about you?

Kraft Chicks Challenge #504

It's the fourth week of April and time for the All Occasions theme at Krafty Chicks Challenge.  My granddaughter's 10th Wedding Anniversary is coming up in June so I made a card for them.
Her colors were pink, black and white and all the girls carried pink Gerbera daisies.  I stamped the mondo Gerbera from EbyE and painted it with Altenew watercolors.  The bottom was cut with a die and placed over polka dot paper from Altenew.  I curved the sentiment from The Greetery and added splatters as a final touch.

What occasion will you pick?  Why not check out the Design Team for some inspiration.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #503

It's CAS week at Krafty Chicks Challenge.  As their April guest designer, this is what I made.
The little wren is from The Greetery stamped in Altenew inks and the sentiment is from MSE.

I hope you'll join me and the Design Team for this week's challenge.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #502

I'm back for the second week of guest designing at Krafty Chicks Challenge.  This week's theme is Christmas.
I combined a sentiment from Scrapbook.com with a silhouette stamp from Woodware.  The stitched square was inked with Distress Ink and then a stencil from HoneyBee added a few stars including the main one made with Nuvo Glimmer Paste.

I hope you will check out what the Design Team has made for the challenge and get started on your Christmas cards, if you haven't already.

Krafty Chicks Challenge #501

I have an announcement.
That's right.  I'm the guest designer at Krafty Chicks Challenge for the month of April.  When Nance emailed to ask me I was both surprised and honored.  The first week is Stamp Act (mainly stamping).
I stamped a background with Altenew flower branches and watercolored the images with Distress Ink.  I cut the panel down with a stitched rectangle, placed it on some Lovely Lady cardstock and added a heat embossed sentiment from MFT.

I hope you'll check out the Krafty Chicks Challenge and get inspiration from the Design Team while you're there.  I'm sure they'd love to see you make a card for their gallery.
