Time Out #296

It's time for another Time Out Challenge and this one is a theme challenge.

It is being sponsored by Claire Brennan Designs and she is offering a stamp set to our winner.  You can see the set on the Time Out post.

The rose is a stencil from Simon Says Stamp, colored with Altenew inks.  The sentiment is from Pinkfresh Studio.

The design team and our guest LeAnne have some wonderfully supportive cards to inspire you.  I hope you will join us for this challenge.

Simply Clean and Simple #1 and Tic Tac Toe #218

There's a new kid in town.  Yes, the remarkable and assumably very busy duo of Diane and Darlene have another challenge for us.  Simply Clean and Simple.  I have a card for their initial outing using the theme "Roses are Red, Violets are Blue".

My rose is a stencil from Altenew called Tranquility Rose, colored with Altenew Ink.  I tried to make this a one layer card but goofed with the layering of the leaf so I had to fussy cut the rose and redo and cut the leaf.  I'm just glad it was easy to fussy cut.  The sentiment is a stencil and die from PinkFresh Studio.

I'm also sending my card to Tic Tac Toe using the right column, CAS, sentiment, stencil.

Thanks for dropping by.

The Flower Challenge #79

It's April already and time for another challenge at The Flower Challenge.

This means you need background stamping in addition to your flowers.

I love ink smooshing so I did a big panel in pinks to make this Virginia Rose from Altenew.  And a green one too for the leaves.  The flower is on light gray cardstock that has been stamped in Versa Mark with  PinkFresh's Floral Shadow.  The same gray was used for the sentiment from Hero Arts.

The Design Team and our guest designer Ishani have plenty of inspiration for you.  Please check them out and then make a card for our gallery.  We'd love to see you there.

Just Us Girls #667 - Photo Week

Vicki has a moodboard to inspire you this week at Just Us Girls.

You can find a close-up of the photos on the blog.  I zoomed in on the peach colored rose on the bottom.

The flower is from Altenew's Garden Rose kit.  This is a leftover rose from an earlier card.  For this one I used the TH die in the corner, backed with green to match the leaves.  I left off a sentiment so I can add one later when I know who the card will go to.

What part of the photo will our guest, Karen Walker,  and the rest of the team chose for their cards?  What will you choose?  Check out the blog for inspiration and make a card.  We'd love to see you in our gallery.

Color Hues #45

Peach and gray.  Doesn't that sound like a lovely color combination?  That's what Color Hues is looking for in their recent challenge.   Here's the card I made for their gallery.

I started with Dove gray from C9, cut it with Altenew's Watercolor Stripes cover die and glued to my card base.  Altenew's Garden Rose was stenciled with their Peach Perfect and stamped with Pastel Sunrise. The leaves were stenciled with Hickory Smoke DI.  I thought it needed more so I cut the fern from PTI's Dahlia set out of vellum and added that to my arrangement.  I thought the gray's looked more like the same color when I chose the paper and ink.  I even stamped them in Memento London Fog.

Thanks for dropping by.

AAA Card Challenge #136

Gasp!  I didn't do the Spring option at the one image AAA Card Challenge .  That's not like me but I found a tag I had made over a year ago and it inspired me to make this card.
The rose is an old Penny Black stamp that I colored with Polychromos.  I added some red behind the RC lacy rectangle and stamped the sentiment from CB for an anniversary card.

I'm trying a new way to take my photos and I think they are looking a little better.  HP Orbit popped up on my computer the other day and gave me a way to link photos I take with my iPhone to my computer wirelessly.  The upside of that is they are already on my phone to post to Instagram.  That means I may post there more regularly too.  I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks. ;)

Thanks for dropping by.  I enjoy reading your comments so please leave one when you visit.

The Paper Players #382

This week it's a sketch challenge at The Paper Players.
I bought an Anna Griffin paper pack a while ago because I loved the prints and they worked perfectly for my card.
For the focal panel I gold heat embossed the PTI Botanical Block on Bristol and colored it with Zigs and Distress Ink.  I decided to leave off a sentiment even though I have some tiny ones that would fit.

We're supposed to be getting a winter storm today.  For those of you in it's wake, please stay safe.

CASology #280

CASology is giving us two weeks for challenge #280 and guess who has her card done already.  I'm either way ahead of schedule or just squeaking in.  I guess it's whenever the inspiration strikes.
I just had to have that HA kindness set and this it's maiden voyage so to speak.  I paired it with a PTI botanical and embossed them both in - gasp - copper.  Not my usual but I wanted to do something different and that made me decide on an orange rose (for you Michele) that I colored with Zigs.

Thanks for dropping by whenever that happens to be during this busy holiday season.

Tag You're It! #71

You should have heard by now that Tag You're It! has gone to a monthly format.  Each month there will be a featured artist to inspire your tag.  A guest designer and different members of the design team will have other tags to inspire you each week.  This is week three and here's my tag based on this one by Lindsey M-P.
The PB rose is stamped on a tag cut from watercolor paper and colored with Distress Inks with a little Inktense pencil added for darker shading. The sentiment is a die from SSS.

We hope to see your tag in the gallery this month.
