Time Out #3 and Retro Sketches #110

Hello everyone.  It's been a while.  Last Saturday a storm blew through and took out my phone and internet.  I have a cell so the phone wasn't much of a loss, but I did have a "quilt" card ready to post for Make it Monday.  I'll save it for a while in case another quilt challenge shows up.  Then things got busy and I didn't have time to make cards until I actually needed one for a friend's party this Saturday.  I used the sketch from Retro Sketches to make a masculine birthday card for Time Out.

The flags from My Craft Spot are similar in shape and size to the line "Happy" from PIT, so I mixed them together with some rather masculine papers and sewed them on.  The 60 is cut with my Cricut and I'm a little disappointed that I couldn't cut it smaller.  I tried 1/2" and it was so thin and tiny that it looked terrible.  This is 3/4" and I'd say it's twice the size of the 1/2".  How does that happen?  Maybe it's time to get an alphabet die. The sentiment is one I masked from Hero Arts.

Thanks for stopping by.  In case I'm not on again, I hope you have a great Easter weekend.

  6. I feel your pain with cutting small sizes on the Cricut. It's a little better on the Silhouette, but I still dread the hassle, especially when you have a specific result in your mind. It's hard to settle for something different. Not having your original vision, however, I think your card turned out great!
