Freshly Made Sketches #376 and CAS(E) This Sketch #310

Two challenges had similar sketches this week.   Freshly Made Sketches and CAS(E) This Sketch.

I pulled out a couple of CASual Friday sets to make my cards.  One feminine and one masculine.

Here are the close-ups.
The Tin Roof is silver embossed with Coral accents added and sentiments by SSS and PTI.

Bricks stamped in what else but Brick Red DOX with Black Soot DOX over the top on Smoke cs. Sentiments are from PTI.

AAA Cards #130

I bought the little stocking stamps and dies from Altenew a while back and thought they'd be perfect for the AAA Cards challenge to use three of something.
The fireplace is gray cardstock embossed with a brick folder after cutting the MFT dome.

I'm finally getting back into the swing of all things cardmaking after all the holiday busyness.  All my Design Team cards are scheduled and I even had time to make a couple for challenges like this one.  I have another one ready and an idea for yet another so the inspiration is flowing and I'm getting excited to see what the New Year brings.

Inkspirational #157

What would you do for this challenge at Inkspirational?  I don't have any dragons or fairies or unicorns so I wasn't sure what to do but my friend and host for this challenge told me to use my elves.  What?  You mean Santa's elves aren't real?  ;)   Carol, this one's for you.
I started the background by masking off the bottom so I could ink it up to look like the floor and then using the same Distress Ink and an MFT stencil made my wall.  The elf and tree are colored with Zigs with a little Glossy Accents added to the ornament.  The sentiment is from HLS.  I liked this so much I made another one with a different colored brick just for fun.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a wonderful day!

Inspired By All the Little Things #79

I have a fairly literal take on the Inspired By All the Little Things photo but when you have a bicycle stamp you have to use it.
This turned out even better than I imagined.  You can see the mixture of stamps below.
Have a wonderful day and thanks for dropping by.

Stamps: SSS Beautiful Ride, Sending Happy Thoughts, Ornaments and Presents; PB Happy Snippets
Dies: Beautiful Ride, Sugar Pea HB2U (CPD exclusive), SSS Stitched Rectangles

Time Out #66

I loved the photo for the Time Out challenge and played around with some ideas until I came up with this.

Black ink on an embossing folder gives the brick some definition.  The leaves from SSS are cut from a smooshed panel that I used to make this card and the platinum embossed sentiment is from MFT.  Can you see where I got my inspiration?
I hope your week is off to a good start.  Thanks for dropping by and sharing it with me.

Inkspirational #93

What would you do with that word prompt?  I just got a new die from MFT that I thought would work well for the Inkspirational challenge..
This card went though a lot of changes and surgeries and I'm still not happy with it but someone will like it - maybe.  I started with the brick wall made with a stencil from MFT and Distress Inks.  When the rest of the card didn't work, I cut that off and glued it on this one.  I originally masked a circle for the glow but then it looked like a moon so I tried a different approach. I inked the circle and then watercolored the sky.  I didn't mean for it to bleed but I guess that makes it a little more realistic.  I also had a difficult time trying to find a sentiment.  I don't have anything glow-y but when I saw this from Winnie and Walter I thought it was a close second.

I'm glad you dropped by.  I hope your week is going well.

The Challenge #43

It's a wonderful day when the weather is good and all my kids and their spouses plus a few grands can get together to enjoy a great American pastime - football.  Two graduated from Michigan State and 4 from Central Michigan and they played each other yesterday in East Lansing.  We had a tailgate party in the parking lot before the noon game (way too much food) and then went to a local pizzeria after (WAY too much pizza).   MSU won as predicted but it was a good game and we all had a fun time.

Now to the matter at hand - the photo inspiration at The Challenge.

I was inspired by the brick wall, the trees and the box of greens.

Embossing paste was used on a MFT brick stencil on Soft Stone cs, leaving the surface a little rough. The rest of the card is make up of Topiaries from PTI with the addition of a burlap stamp on the base and Altenew's wood pallet stamp on a scrap of kraft for the sentiment from Casual Fridays.

Thanks for stopping by.  In case you didn't notice, I adjusted the settings on my camera (after reading some intructions) and the photos are coming out much better/lighter.

Fusion - Old Door Charm

It's rather late in the day but I've had this card made for Fusion for a week now and have put off posting it.  If I don't do it now, I may miss the deadline so here it is.

Those of you who know me know I love old and rustic and so this door charmed me right off the bat and I set out to make my card right away.  It took some finagling but it turned out just like I wanted, something that hasn't been happening to me much since then.

I cut the door with my Cricut and then stamped and inked, and inked and crackled (with Distress Crackle Paint.  The background is SSS Smoke run through with my Bricked ef and then mounted on Slate cardstock.  Another piece of Slate was put behind the door where the sentiment from PTI (I found it!  I couldn't remember what set it was from when I was looking for it.) is embossed with Liquid Platinum.  I also used it on the brad door knob.  If I saw this in an antique shop, life size, I'd probably buy it.  No, not my card, the door in the inspiration photo.  :)

Good night all.  Thanks for stopping by.
