Time Out Challenge #283 - CASE the Designer

It's Time Out's 11th birthday and for this challenge we want you to CASE this card by Donna Mikasa.

For my card I used Ardyth Percy-Robb's LIMES.  It stands for List, Include, Modify, Exclude and Spin.  If you aren't familiar with LIMES please check out her website.  It helps me not be so literal with anything I CASE.

I won't go through everything on the list but you can see the difference but still within the boundaries of Donna's card.  There is a stenciled floral panel from PTI, an embossed background (Blossom Field from SSS), and a celebrate sentiment from MFT.  I kept the color in the pink family, cut the panel with a rectangle and stamped the sentiment.

It's going to be fun to see all the different ways the design team interprets Donna's card.  After seeing them, we hope you are inspired to make a card.  The winner of the challenge will receive a $25 store credit to Gina K Designs.

Just Us Girls #731 - Word Week

Everyone loves a celebration and now you have the chance to make a celebration card.  Our host Carol M has chosen the word celebrate for this week's Just Us Girls challenge.

I saw Kristina Werner make a fun birthday card and thought I'd CASE hers.

I used Distress Inks on watercolor paper, randomly stamping the SSS balloons.  When they were dry I added strings with a Micron pen.  The sentiment is from Big Birthday Wishes circa 2015 and is no longer available.  It's heat embossed in gold on vellum which is then wrapped around the panel and all placed on a green card base.

I made a birthday card but there are many other occasions to celebrate.  Choose one and make a card for the challenge.  Our guest Jane Taylor and the Design Team have some wonderful cards to inspire you.

Just Us Girls #720 - Stencil Week

Hey there.  I'm so glad you dropped by.

How did you like our collaboration challenge with Time Out?  It changed the Just Us Girls schedule slightly but we are back with our fourth week challenge, hosted by Sue.

A while ago I spent a day foiling a number of images and used one of those panels for my card today.

I received the hot foil plate when I was a guest designer for Altenew in August of 2022 but it is now available in the store.  It comes with a stencil that I used with Altenew inks.  The panel was trimmed, mounted on yellow cardstock and a foiled sentiment from Pinkfresh added.
What stencil will you use to make a card for our gallery?  The design team and our guest Tracey McNeely have some lovely cards to inspire you so check them out and get making.

TIme Out # 244 -

This week we challenge you to be monochromatic at Time Out.

I saw a video from Jennifer McGuire on using up your glitter and decided that technique would work for my monochromatic card.

I don't often use glitter so don't have much that is colorful but I happend to have these two greens that came from the grocery store I think.  I used an Altenew double sided adhesive sheet on my card panel before adhering the die cut from their Curtain Leaves.  Then I proceeded to add the glitter, pressing it into the adhesive.  For a sentiment I used Altenew's Sweet Sentiments dies, cutting the word from the same paper as the leaves and the shadow from some that matched the darker green.

The sponsor of this challenge is Varada Sharma and she is offering two $15 credits to her digital store.

The Design Team has some wonderful monochrome cards for  your inspiration.  Please check them out.

Freshly Made Sketches #570

I wasn't sure I'd have a card for Freshly Made Sketches this week until a new order arrived.  I was able to get a bogo deal on Altenew flower dies and used one for my card.

I have seen Therese Calvird make flowers from colorful paper packs and knew this Virginia Rose would look beautiful in the Gel Printing:Soft Wash papers from Altenew.  The Swiss Dots embossing folder was used for the background and a foiled sentiment added.

Thanks for dropping by.  It's a dreary day today.  Great for getting more crafting done.

Color Throwdown #727

The colors from Color Throwdown brought out my Erin Lee Creative background stamp.

I needed some Altenew artist marker practice and thought this stamp would work well.  As you can see I need lots more practice.  It didn't help that the Firefly marker I used on the rose leaves was dry. The panel was trimmed down and a foiled sentiment from Altenew was added.

Thanks for dropping by.

Time Out #221 and HLS Anything Goes with Dies

Time Out wants to see festive cards in their gallery.  Who can resist that theme.  I know I can't.

I had the foiled HoneyBee background in my B&P box.  The Concord and 9th candles were cut from holographic paper with gold sparkly flames added.  The celebrate die from Altenew is the reverse foiling of the word, cut with the accompanying shadow die.

It's not often I make an all die card so I'm also sending this over to Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope your week is off to a great start.

Just Us Girls #645 - Trend Week

I'm hosting Trend Week at Just Us Girls and I have what I think is a good one that should bring in lots of  cards to the gallery.

So many companies are coming out with stencils now that can be used alone or over stamped or embossed images.  You can also use one for your background.  Whatever tickles your fancy.

I used Altenew's Tranquility Rose stand alone stencil, with a blending brush and Altenew Inks.  The sentiment is a hot foil plate and shadow die from PinkFresh Studio.

Our guest designer Cathy Roffey and the rest of the Design Team have some wonderful stenciled cards to inspire you.  Take a look and then make a card for the gallery.  You may have a chance to be a future guest designer.

Thanks for dropping by.

Just Us Girls #588 - Trend Week

It's Trend Week at Just Us Girls and our host Carol has chosen this for our challenge.

This gave me a chance to use my Altenew Cosmos Craft-a-Flower.

I watercolored the flower and leaf pieces with Distress Ink, assembled the blooms and put them on an inked panel.  The sentiment from Poppystamps was also watercolored and layered.

Fran Wing is our guest designer this month and she and the other designers have some wonderful cards to inspire you.  Take a look and then add your card to our gallery.  You may be chosen Chic of the Week with a chance to be a guest designer.

Inspired By #156 and Time Out # 177

It looked like New Year's Eve celebrations on the photos at Inspired By and Time Out.  My card can be used for any celebration although it will probably be for a birthday.

I used the balloons from Concord and 9th's Birthday Stacks, embossed them in white and painted them with Altenew metalllic paint to give a translucent look.  The strings and sentiment were heat embossed in silver.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a Happy New Year!

Less Is More #399

Celebrations is the theme at Less Is More
and those kind of cards are easy to make.
For my card I cut the MFT word die from 'happy' paper and substituted a candle from Sugar Pea for the 'L'.  QACAS.  Or EZPZ.   Whichever acronym you prefer. 😄

Have a great day and thanks for dropping by.

Seize the Birthday #156

I don't make resolutions but I sometimes plan to do something better or more than the year before.  One thing I want to do is play at Seize the Birthday more often.  I do make a LOT of birthday cards but don't think to add them to their gallery.  So here's my first card of the new year for STB.
Their twist is confetti so I filled my card with it.  I inked the paper with Distress Inks, clear heat embossed the confetti and streamers and went over it all with Black Soot.

I'm so glad you dropped by.  Please leave a comment so I know you were here.

Stamps:  Winnie and Walter (confetti), Mama Elephant (sentiment)
Die:  MFT
Paper:  PTI, Strathmore Bristol
Inks: Distress, Altenew

Just Us Girls #456 - Word Week

Ina has chosen 'celebrate' for Word Week at Just Us Girls.  That leaves it wide open to interpretation and we hope you'll be inspired to make a card for this week's challenge.

I took advantage of the Concord and 9th birthday sale and ordered their Birthday Stacks stamps and dies.  I couldn't wait to play with them once they arrived.
There is everything you need to make a keepsake card in the set and this is the first one I did.  The candles are colored with Zigs and I backed the celebrate die with a black shadow so it would show up better.  The nice thing about this is it folds down to fit in an A2 envelope.
All the measurements and instructions are on the C9 website.  Once I knew what I was doing I had to make a second card for my great-granddaughter who will be three on the 15th.

I thought she'd like the pinks and purples with a little green and aqua added.  I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment from Clearly Besotted on the back.  Here's another look at how it folds.

Enough from me.  Now it's time for you to see what the rest of Design Team and our guest designer Julie Beech have made and then make a card of your own for the challenge.  If you are our Chic of the Week you may be our guest designer in November.

STAMPlorations - February

I am so glad I checked the deadline for the STAMPlorations challenge.  I've had a card made for weeks but never posted it.  Although I've already posted a card today, it's now or never for this one.
I made a similar card before but I didn't have the Candied Apple Distress Ink at the time so the sentiment and layout were a little different.  You can see that card here,

I stamped and masked Shirley's houses on Bristol and inked it ombre' style before adding the sentiment from HA.  The inside says "So paint the town red."

Thanks for dropping by - again.

Just Us Girls #422 - Anything Goes

Welcome back everyone.  Our host Vicki has chosen Anything Goes as the first challenge of 2018 for Just Us Girls.  That is always a very popular challenge so we expect to see a lot of entries.  Our guest designer this month is Cathy McCauley.  You will want to check out what she and the rest of the Design Team have made but first here's my card.

I inked up the background stamp from CASual Fridays with three Altenew inks. I wanted the die cut to match so I rubbed ink directly onto some white cs before cutting it out, then stacked it on two more cuts. The little flowers are also from CF and stamped with the same ink as the background.

If you are chosen Chic of the Week, you will be eligible to be our guest designer in March.  So what do you say?  Let's get card making!

The Flower Challenge #12

The Flower Challenge has a tic tac toe board to use for inspiration this month and I found it very easy to make a card using either the up and down center or top row across.

I had heat embossed in gold the flowers from Altenew and they'd been sitting around waiting for a card and a color.  I watercolored them with Abandoned Coral and Mowed Lawn DI.  For the sentiment I cut the word die from Popystamps in gold and layered it on two layers of Berry Sorbet.

Thanks for dropping by.  I love it when you do.
