Retro #111 and Card Concept #8

Happy Friday, everyone.  It is Friday, right?  I've been busy.  I don't know what all I've been doing but I haven't been spending much time in the craft room.  That combined with the fact that my right brain went on vacation, I just haven't made any cards until today.  I made a list last night of all the challenges I want to enter and there were 7 of them, none of which could really be combined, most of them due on Sunday.  Uh oh. Here are two of them.

First up is Retro Sketches.

My step granddaughter's birthday is May 1 and I made this for her.  I used a couple of NBUS stamps on this - the PTI Library Card (and die) and My Craft Spot's Scrapping Life. The paperclip is cut with my Cricut and embossed with gold three times and imprinted with a heart - the faux metal look..

The next card was a real bugaboo.  It's for The Card Concept.

I don't have an umbrella stamp or die so I cut this girl with my Cricut.  I knew I wanted a spring like umbrella but after that everything was trial and error.  Mostly error.  I ended up by embossing clouds for my background, cutting it to leave space for the sentiment from PTI. (Another NBUS)  It's for the clean and layered category.

Tonight the church group is going to see "Heaven is for Real" and tomorrow is an all day church meeting.  So when will I get those other cards done?  I may have to give a couple of them up. (insert sad face).

I'm so glad you stopped by.  I love reading your comments so I hope you leave one.

Two wonderful cards, Bobby. Your umbrella card turned out brilliantly; well worth your efforts! Love that library card one too! I've had my eye on those since their release. Love how you've used them here. Have a great weekend. Bev

I love both of these and I'm sorry you won't have time to do the other five challenges, Bobby, but there are always more! The library card card is so stinkin' cute and the young lad walking on clouds is the best! I totally WANT that beautiful umbrella!! Hugs, Darnell

I had to laugh because I bet your step granddaughter has never seen a library card like that - I know my kids haven't! Lol! I love that your umbrella is full of flowers - it makes it link so well to the sentiment! Thanks so much for joining us at the Card Concept, Bobby - have a great weekend!

You're right, Ardyth. I never thought about her not knowing what a library card is.

What a sweet silhouette and a beautiful umbrella! And I remember those library cards and having to sort them alphabetically at the end of the day and find the card when the book was returned. Aaah! The good old days! We could still check out books if the power was out!

Oh this is SO FUNNY, we both have a card not only made with a Cricut, but made with the same cartridge, posted on the same day! How unlikely is that?!? I have so many different cartridges, and it's the same one you used. I really like the simple images in A Child's Year though. You did a great job with this image. Great idea to paper piece the umbrella.
