Just Us Girls #392

As Mother's Day approaches, our hostess Maria chose Mother as her word for Just Us Girls Word Week.
I lost my mother a year and a half ago but still made a Mother's Day card. Maybe I will send it to my daughter.
The flowers are Aletnew's Bamboo Roses that I borrowed from Michele and white embossed when we had our craft day a couple of weeks ago.  I thought I'd try watercoloring with DIOx's and it worked great.  I inked around the flowers with Limestone and stamped the sentiment from Altenew in the same ink.  The panel was cut with a scalloped rectangle from N & T and mounted on Soft Stone.

This month we have Kathie Durgan as our guest designer.  Go on over to Just Us Girls and she what she and the rest of the design team made.  If you make a card, you may be chosen Chic of the Week and be eligible for a guest design spot.

I hope to see you in the gallery.

I, too, lost my mom about a year and a half ago - December of 2015. But I have a very good friend whose mom is still with her and I like to send her a Mother's Day card as a surrogate. Your card is beautiful, I love what you have done with those soft colors on the flowers. Fabulous!! I think adding just a touch of yellow on any flower just makes it pop.

This was a tough challenge for me, too. I lost my Mom in 2004. You have done a beautiful job on this, I love those flowers in the pretty pink and the soft green on the background.
