Darnell's NBUS #12

Darnell's NBUS Challenge is still going strong.  So many people, so many new stamps.  I try to limit my buying.  I know. You're laughing.  But I do think twice, or three times even, before buying anything new.  The one stamp set I didn't have to think about was Poppy Fields. the United We Flourish collaboration between Altenew and Essentials by Ellen.

I white heat embossed the flowers and some leaves from another Altenew set and colored them with Distress Inks.  A 3D embossing folder, SSS stitched circle and rectangle dies, and a SSS sentiment on a scrap of Slate embossed with white finish out the card.  You may think this is an unusual color for poppies but they found a field of them this color growing in North Carolina.  Unfortunately that's not all they found.  You do know what comes from poppies, right?

I've been making a lot of prayer cards lately.  Too many people are going through difficult times and it makes me feel good to let them know that they are not alone.  That someone is thinking of them and praying for them.  One big one is the number of persons with Dementia or Alzheimer's.  Both my son-in-law and a daughter-in-law are dealing with this with their fathers.  It is so sad to watch someone who used to be such a vital part of our lives fade away into a world of their own.

Thanks so much for dropping by.  Praying that all is well with you and yours.

I am sure these cards are so appreciated Bobby. My mother-in-law has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's too. Love your beautiful card especially the background.

It's so nice of you to send cards and prayers to those who are feeling overwhelmed, and this card is perfect, Bobby! Your background adds so much dimension to your design and I love how you colored the poppies...so pretty! Forgive my ignorance, but I don't know what comes from poppies ~ Sending hugs, Barb

Those are stunning flowers! I agree with your purchasing habits...I have to think a lot before I buy, including how many times or ways I can use a stamp, ink, or die. Your card is truly lovely, and your thoughtfulness is so sweet. It means a lot to know someone is praying.

Wow, such a ton of interesting elements for the eyes to take in, Bobby! I love the 3D texture, and the beautiful painting of the poppies, and the lovely simple sediment! I forget that poppies come in colors other than the bright orange gold of California poppies! Thank you for playing again in my NBUS Challenge #12! Hugs, Darnell

This is so beautiful Bobby. I love the colours of your poppies. And the dimension from the dry embossed background creates a lovely place for your blooms to land. I'm sure your lovely card will bring comfort to those caring for ill loved ones. Support is so important for the caregivers. xx
