CAS Christmas - Gifts

One good thing about visiting crafty friends is they let you borrow their stamps and dies.  Last week on a visit to Michele's, she let me take the perfect die for the CAS Christmas Challenge.
The SSS packages look so pretty all wrapped in scraps of Christmas paper with silver foil ribbons.  Heat embossing the PTI sentiment caused my paper to warp and when I ran it through my Big Shot to flatten it out, the plate wasn't in the right place and made a groove on the panel.  I ended up embossing the background to cover it up and it is one of those happy accidents because I love the texture it gives.

I sit here looking at the photo on the screen and the actual card and the color is so different.  No matter what I do with my camera, my light box or my photo editing program, I can't get things to come out true to life.  And it's not consistent which is the frustrating part.  I've even gone back and forth from my camera to my phone and that doesn't make much difference either.   Maybe I just need to wait for sunny days and take all my photos then.  It doesn't look like we'll have many of those this week.  But with all the new floor prep I won't have much time to make cards anyway.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you have a great week!

What a perfect die to use scraps of Christmas DSP on Bobby...I think that die needs to come to my house next! Photo editing can be such a pain, but seriously, your card looks FABULOUS just the way it's showing up on my screen...LOVE it!! :0)

Michele lent you the perfect die for this challenge, Bobby! Those packages are so pretty with the bright holiday paper and silver bows! Love the embossing! I don't know how the colors could look any better, but I know what you mean. I have the same problem. Thanks so much for sharing with us at CAS Christmas!

Crafty friends are the best of friends, aren't they?! What a cool Christmas card, Bobby!! LOVE that die and love that all the ribbons are in silver - I'll admit that I do matchy-matchy with the wrapped gifts under the tree, so this card is right in my wheelhouse! And I do love happy accidents, too! Sweet card. Bev

I love every little detail about this card, Bobby ... the patterns on the 'wrapping paper', the silver ribbons and outlines, the simple, stylish sentiment ... and that luscious 'accidental' texture. You and Michele's die make an awesome team!! Hugs, Anita :)

Sweet! Love this die with the outline of silver and the mix of pretty Christmas papers. Great design Bobbie! And the happy accident of adding a little texture to the back makes it even better. :) Your card is fabulous and the colours look awesome, but I know what you mean about it not looking like the same colours as the original. Try setting your white balance before taking pictures. It might be a simple fix. xx

Renovations afoot...which explains your 'turmoil' comment I noted. Hopefully things are progressing well. Your card, from my perspective, looks perfect as is! Fabulous festively-wrapped gifts!
