As the leaves pop out on our trees here in the Midwest, what a perfect prompt from the Twofer Challenge.
Using Altenew's Leaf Canopy I made a sympathy card and a birthday card.
For the sympathy card I heat embossed the leaves with white pearl, applied the panel to some PTI Jadite cardstock and added the sentiment from Avery Elle in white shimmer paper. I recently saw a Jennifer McGuire video featuring this technique and it was so lovely I had to try it.
For the birthday card I stamped a single branch with Gina K sage ink on dark cardstock and colored the leaves with PolyChromos pencils, going over them with Gamsol. The sentiment is from PTI.
You've done it again, Twofer Team. This was such a fun prompt to work with.
Two lovely ways to use your leaves! The second version is a wonderful masculine card!ReplyDelete
Two Gorgeous leaves cards, Bobby. I love how you heat embossed on vellum the leaves and attached to cardstock for your sympathy card. Your 2nd card is so beautiful stamped on a dark green cardstock and colored with your pencils and blended with Gamsol. Your leaves look so rich and beautiful. TFS ..Hugs...NancyReplyDelete
Both of these cards are gorgeous, Bobby! I love the ethereal look of the sympathy card with the white embossed leaves and the soft green! The second card has a totally different feel with the dark background and beautifully colored leaves! Thank you for sharing with us at The Twofer Challenge!ReplyDelete
I'm seeing Spring outside my window, too, Bobby! You've chosen a few of my favorite leaves for your cards today - both lovely btw!ReplyDelete
Two absolutely BEAUTIFUL leaf cards Bobby! I'm loving the look of the embossing on the vellum and then over the colored cardstock...what a soft and like Bonnie said "ethereal" look it gives your sympathy card. Your birthday card is just as beautiful using the colored pencils and gamsol on the darker cardstock with the single branch of leaves...lovely, lovely card!! Thanks so much for sharing these beauties with us at The Twofer Challenge Bobby!! :0)ReplyDelete
Two lovely Twofer cards, Bobby. I especially love the vellum one, it is so delicate and subtle ...ReplyDelete
What a great interpretation of the twofer challenge! I just love the pearl embossing of the leaves and that soft green color and the birthday card looks amazing with just one branch so beautifully colored too! NJ!ReplyDelete
Wow, these are wonderful. I love those white embossed leaves, they just shine. You did a fantastic job with the pencils. Those leaves are stunning, Bobby.ReplyDelete
And you've done it again with your two gorgeous designs, Bobby! I love them both and can't wait to CASE you with my NBUS leaf canopy set which I finally purchased. You've made me so glad I did! I'll bet that beautiful pearl design is amazing in person and your pencil work on your second design is flawless! Thank you for playing in TCC #37! Take care! Hugs, DarnellReplyDelete
Two stunning cards with leaves, Bobby. The look of the sympathy card is very nice with embossed leaves on light green background. I like dark background and perfectly colored leaves on the birthday card. Thank you for joining us at TCC #37.ReplyDelete
These are two of the most beautiful cards I've seen in a while, Bobby. That sympathy card is stunning in its simplicity; the green and the white pearl embossing, with the soft, shimmering sentiment - well it just doesn't get more beautiful than this. LOVE this. Really, really love this! And I haven't forgotten about your birthday card, either. Wowzers! I so rarely use darker cardstock on cards, and this one makes me want to check my papers and CASE this. Your work with the colored pencils is perfection. Another stunner, for sure! You've blown me away! I love how the curvy sentiment echoes the curves on the leaves. Dang girl!! Thank you so, so much for sharing your cards at The Twofer Challenge. Stay safe. xo BevReplyDelete
Oh these are pretty! I love that simple embossing showing that we don't need to over complicate things. (note to self). And the colouring on your second card is beautiful. I do love an autumn leaf. Alison Twofer GDReplyDelete
These are both beautiful, Bobby! The soft sympathy card with the all over pearl tone on tone look is so tranquil ... and your bold colouring of the single sprig on the dark cardstock is just delicious on the birthday card, so eyecatching! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Hugs, Anita :)ReplyDelete
Gorgeous cards, Bobby! I love how you embossed the leaves onto your Jadite cardstock...Thanks for reminding me how pretty it is :) Beautiful coloring on your birthday card, too! I really love how you blended your colors...it's so striking! Congrats on receiving a HM at Twofer ~ xxReplyDelete
