Just Us GIrls #777 - CASE a Designer

This is the challenge at Just Us Girls where the designers get a chance to do whatever they want and you get a chance to CASE their card.

This is actually a CASE of a card I saw on Pinterest by Jenn.  While she ink blended with Altenew inks, I couldn't get a look I liked so I chose to use watercolor paper and Distress Inks for my flowers from Altenew's Incredible.  I added Dried Marigold, Worn Lipstick and Peacock Feathers randomly and then spritzed the heck out of the image to get everything to flow.  Altenew's Always Sunshine embossing folder adds background leaves and the sentiment is from their One-Go Birthday.

All you need to do is pick a card, any card, and use your magic to make something of your own.  Please be sure to tell us whose card you chose and how it inspired you.  Vicki is our host this challenge.

The Flower Challenge #94

We have a color challenge for you this month at The Flower Challenge.

Watercolor paper was used to emboss Altenew's Pressed Flowers.  The flowers were painted with Distress Inks in Abandoned Coral, Salt Water Taffy, Squeezed Lemonade and Shabby Shutters. The panel was trimmed and added to coral cardstock.  The foiled sentiment is from Spellbinders.

The Design Team has plenty of inspiration for you on the blog.  Be sure to check them out and make a card for our gallery using at least three of the colors in the photo.

Color Hues #91

Red and green.  Those are the colors at Color Hues and while I gave a thought to not making a Christmas card, I couldn't help myself.

The Honey Bee poinsettia was cut from red cardstock and inked in the center with Aged Mahogany DI.  The panel was embossed with Altenew's Poinsettia Cluster before adding the flower and a foiled sentiment.

Thanks for dropping by.

52 Christmas Card Throwdown 33.23

I finally had a chance to make a card for 52 Christmas Card Throwdown.  I did a good job keeping up with their challenges at the beginning of the year but not having a lot of Christmas things with me kind of slowed me down.

A new set from Spellbinders gave me this holly that I did in chartreuse and pink with a sentiment from Concord and 9th white heat embossed on aqua.  The background is an Altenew embossing folder called Crystal Wall.

Thanks for dropping by.

Can You Handle the Pressure? Poppies

With all the embossing folders I have it only makes sense to make a card for Can You Handle the Pressure?  This challenge has a twist of Poppies and that's what I did. Sort of.

I say sort of because I'm not sure if these are actually poppies.  They are from Altenew and called Sunny Flowers.  Other crafters have said they look like poppies.  They are colored with Zigs, die cut and run through the coordinating embossing folder.  It's difficult to see that the flowers are embossed in the photo so I'm showing that I also embossed the background before I placed them on my card.

I'm getting back in the swing of cardmaking so I hope to be posting a lot more.  Things are winding down at the lake.  We had a Labor Day potluck last night for the cottages on our road and the next road over followed by a corn hole tournament.  This weekend will be the last time most of the people will be around so it was a good send-off.

52 Christmas Card Throwdown 26.23

I'm glad that I had what I needed to play in 52 Christmas Card Throwdown's color challenge this week - red and pale blue.

Using Lumberjack Plaid Distress Ink, I colored the poinsettia die from Altenew.  The light blue cardstock was embossed with Crystal Wall from Altenew and then brayered with Unicorn White ink.  The blue was so light that not much of the white shows in the photo but it looks great IRL.  The sentiment is from EbyE stamped in the same red ink.  My Christmas stash keeps growing.  Yay!

Thanks for dropping by.
