Krafty Chicks Challenge #501

I have an announcement.
That's right.  I'm the guest designer at Krafty Chicks Challenge for the month of April.  When Nance emailed to ask me I was both surprised and honored.  The first week is Stamp Act (mainly stamping).
I stamped a background with Altenew flower branches and watercolored the images with Distress Ink.  I cut the panel down with a stitched rectangle, placed it on some Lovely Lady cardstock and added a heat embossed sentiment from MFT.

I hope you'll check out the Krafty Chicks Challenge and get inspiration from the Design Team while you're there.  I'm sure they'd love to see you make a card for their gallery.

The Flower Challenge #33 - Reminder

There is still time to play along with The Flower Challenge where Deepti Malik joins us as both a guest designer and sponsor.

I used another of Deepti's designs to make a background for this card.
I stamped the bouquet several times in Memento Rich Cocoa and colored the entire panel with Zigs and Distress Inks.  I wanted those little berries white so I used my embossing pen to color them in and white heat embossed.  The same brown ink was embossed on a vellum flag for my sentiment.

The Design Team and Deepti have cards to inspire you to make one for the challenge.  Please check them out.

The Flower Challenge #33

The Flower Challenge for June features background stamping.
Deepti Malik is our guest designer and she is also offering one of the stamps she designed as a prize for our winner.  I have several of her stamps and decided to use one to make a background for the challenge.
I stamped the image several time in VersaFine Gray on Bristol cardstock and colored them with Zigs.  I layered the 'Sending' die cut four times and slipped the secondary sentiment through the g.

I hope you'll check out what the Design Team and Deepti have in store for you on The Flower Challenge blog and then make a card for the gallery after reading the rules that are posted there.

Merry Monday #273

Just a quick post today before I get to sewing on sofa cushions for my DIL.

My card is for the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge - red and turquoise. That seems to be a popular Christmas color combo lately.
I colored the elf from MFT with Zigs and used the packages from the set for my background.  I didn't know how else to do a sentiment so I repeatedly stamped the 'JOY' from PB.

That's all for now.  Thanks for dropping by.

Just Us Girls #420 - Color Week

Angie is our host and picked the colors for Color Week at Just Us Girls.
I think color challenges are some of the more difficult ones for me but I happened to see this card from Lisa Elton which inspired my card.

I did a mix-up of stamp companies for this card using flowers from Altenew, the background leaves from Catherine Pooler, the bubble die from CASual Fridays and the sentiment from SSS.  Don't they play well together?

What elements and/or companies will you use for your JUGS entry this week?  Need inspiration?  The Design Team and our guest designer Trina Pham have cards waiting for you on the blog.  If you enter a card you may be chosen Chic of the Week with a chance to be a future guest designer.

The Flower Challenge #11

All those smaller images we have are great for background stamping.  I used WPlus9's Happy Wishes to make my card for The Flower Challenge.
After stamping the panel with Altenew Inks, I cut it with the Neat and Tangled scallop die and mounted it on Lovely Lady cardstock.  The sentiment was stamped and clear embossed on vellum that was cut around the edges.
Thanks for dropping by.
