Just Us Girls #753 - Word Week

Sue is our host for Word Week at Just Us Girls and this is what she chose

My friend Loll made a number of cards using the Immense Joy die from Penny Black and they were so creative and JOYous that I had to have the die.  I used it for my card today.

I had bought a few PB stamps recently when a gentleman was selling out his supply and while they were older products I didn't have them.  This darling elf was one of them.  He was stamped on watercolor paper and colored with Distress Inks.  The JOY was also watercolored. I plan to do a few more of these with different images.

The Design Team and our guest Jenn have cards they made expressing Joy.  Please check them out and then make a card for our challenge.  We'd love to see your card in our gallery.

Happy Little Stampers Christmas - September

We're still encouraging you to make Christmas cards at Happy Little Stampers Christmas.  This month the optional twist is elf.
I had the sentiment die cut in my drawer and thought it would look good with one of the MFT elves peeking through it. It's actually dark green although it reads almost black in the photo.  He's colored with Distress Inks and Zigs with a little SN Sparkle on his fur and on the bell.

We look forward to seeing your Christmas cards, with or without an elf.

CAS Christmas - May

Today's card is for the CAS Christmas Challenge.
I only have one stocking die and one stocking stamp.  I went with the stamp.
The little elf is from MFT and I colored him and a couple of extra stockings with PolyChromos pencils adding some gel pen polka dots to the toes and heels.  The fireplace is made from a PTI frame die and a TH brick stencil.  The photo makes it look darker and dingier that it really is.  I tried to take two other ones and even with photo editing they wouldn't come out truer color.

Thanks for dropping by.

CAS Christmas - April

The CAS Christmas challenge this month is
I only have one elf stamp and a lot of the Design Team used the same MFT one so I tried to come up with a different way to present him.
I made him the O in JOY.  He's colored with PolyChromos and popped up on foam tape.  The letters are from an MFT kit and are double layered.

Thanks for dropping by.

Inkspirational #157

What would you do for this challenge at Inkspirational?  I don't have any dragons or fairies or unicorns so I wasn't sure what to do but my friend and host for this challenge told me to use my elves.  What?  You mean Santa's elves aren't real?  ;)   Carol, this one's for you.
I started the background by masking off the bottom so I could ink it up to look like the floor and then using the same Distress Ink and an MFT stencil made my wall.  The elf and tree are colored with Zigs with a little Glossy Accents added to the ornament.  The sentiment is from HLS.  I liked this so much I made another one with a different colored brick just for fun.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a wonderful day!

Merry Monday #273

Just a quick post today before I get to sewing on sofa cushions for my DIL.

My card is for the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge - red and turquoise. That seems to be a popular Christmas color combo lately.
I colored the elf from MFT with Zigs and used the packages from the set for my background.  I didn't know how else to do a sentiment so I repeatedly stamped the 'JOY' from PB.

That's all for now.  Thanks for dropping by.

Merry Monday #223

I'll be off to Thanksgiving dinner with my son and his family shortly but I wanted to wish all those who are celebrating a wonderful day of giving thanks for their many blessings.  Even if you don't celebrate this holiday, I wish you all the blessings your heart can hold.

Merry Monday has a color challenge this week - dark blue, light blue and pink.
I colored the elf and gifts from MFT with Distress Ink in the required colors with a little gray and WOS thrown in for good measure.  I haven't used this stamp nearly enough so I may play with him a little more this next week.

Have a wonderful day and thanks for taking time out of your busy day to drop by.

What a delightful little tag Susan has created for your inspiration at Tag You're It! this week.

No gnomes is my stash so I went with another MFT set.

The background is a MFT brick stencil inked with Distress Inks.  The images were die cut from bristol board and colored with Zigs.  A little Stickles on the ornament and star add a festive feel.

I hope you'll join us for the challenge this week.  Need inspiration?  Head on over to Tag You're It! and see what the rest of the team has for you.

MUSE # 146

When your friend shares her elf stamp set with you and then uses said stamp on a card featured as the inspiration at MUSE,  you just HAVE to make a card to enter.
My little MFT elf is decorating the MFT tree and wishing you all an Essentials by Ellen 'Merry Christmas'.  All coloring was done with Distress Ink except for the HA silver bell and bauble to which Glossy Accents were added.  I have ordered those darling little elves for myself so next Christmas will be full of them. ;)

Here's Michele's card.  I was inspired by the elf, of course,  the colors and the black band.

Have a blessed Holiday season and a Happy New Year.

Tag You're It! #32

Would you believe that I do not have a single Santa image in my stamp collection?  The inspiration for Tag You're It! features one but I had to go another way.
I think I went a few different ways now that I look at Kelly's card again.  I did do a white tag with a winter image and a printed background but that's about it.
I didn't even put my tag on the same side of the card but my little MFT elf had to be looking toward the sentiment.  The tag is NBUS from MFT, the elf is colored with Distress Inks, and the sentiment is from Essentials by Ellen.  I used WOS on the fur of his shirt and cap and silver glitter embossed the bell.  Yes, it's silver AND glitter.  So shiny and beautiful.  Those of you who Copic color, don't look too closely at his face.  I had a hard time making it even on the Neenah he was cut from.

I'm so glad you dropped by.  Why not leave a comment to let me know you were here.
