The Flower Challenge #45

It's time for the next The Flower Challenge and the theme this month is
For my card the second color depended on what happened with the technique I decided to use.
I used bleach on navy cardstock, stamped and clear heat embossed with flowers from MFT.  It bleached out to a kraft-like color so I cut the panel with a stitched rectangle and mounted it on some Desert Storm cardstock.  There were a couple of spots that looked irregular so I added the sequins and I'm almost sorry I did although they look better IRL.  Speaking of sorry, I figured this would make a great sympathy card.

The Design Team and our guest Jenny Hall are ready to show you their navy cards so head on over to take a peek and be inspired.  We'd love to see your card in our gallery.

CAS Mix-Up April 2020

I said to myself "Wouldn't you just know it" when I saw this month's challenge for CAS Mix-Up.
I had just finished a bleached card for a Design Team assignment that I wouldn't be able to use here. It's a good thing I like the technique because I pulled out the bleach and made another card.
My first step is to try bleach on different cardstocks to see how they react and ended up using PTI Ripe Avocado.  I stamped and clear heat embossed a wreath from Altenew's Weekend Doodles. Then I just painted the leaves with bleach, letting it sit and do its job, adding more to get the color I wanted.  I cut the panel down and added the sentiment from  PTI.

Thanks for dropping by.

Just Us Girls #466 - Trend Week

Have you ever tried using bleach on a card?  Now's your chance since that is the trend that Ina has chosen for us at Just Us Girls.
You never know what kind of results you will get by adding bleach to paper and believe me I experimented a lot.  Some paper didn't change at all and some worked beautifully.  I have not one but two cards to show you.  This is the second one I did when I found out what bleach did to PTI's Ocean Tide.
Isn't this fabulous?  I gold heat embossed the flower from Catherine Pooler and then applied straight bleach with a paint brush and let it dry on its own.

My second card was my first until I goofed and accidentally moved the stamp and got a double image.  I salvaged it by cutting it apart and fortunately I had another scrap of the paper - the very last of my PTI Winter Wisteria.
I love the pink color I got by applying the bleach after heat embossing the SSS Artful flowers in white.

I sure hope you'll give this a try.  Check out the cards from our guest Claire and the rest of the team if you need inspiration.  If you are the challenge winner you could be our guest in January.
