Time Out #308- Happy 12th Birthday!

That's right.  Time Out is 12 years old.  You can read about its start on the blog.  For this challenge we welcome Stef Perry as our muse and she has created a card for all of us to CASE.

Here's a closer look.

Stef does a beautiful job of coloring flowers and while she used alcohol markers for hers, I went with a different medium.

It all started with gold embossing Hello Beautiful from Altenew and then using the stencils to color the flowers. The background panel was trimmed down and embossed with the Time Worn Type folder by SU.  Before adding it to a C9 Nutmeg card base, a few gold splatters were added.  The sentiment is from BetterPress foiled in gold.

We hope you will CASE Stef's card for the challenge  Please be sure to tell us how you were inspired.

Freshly Made Sketches #708

I had a certain stamp in mind for the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches but I have a feeling it has deteriorated over the years because I couldn't get a clear image.  So I pivoted and made this instead.

This is a Pinkfresh Studio card. The wreath and bow from Season's Greetings were stamped in Memento Fog, colored with Altenew Artist Markers and then gold heat embossed.  The gold embossed sentiment is from their Basic Banners Christmas.

I already have enough Christmas cards made but I continue to make them since the only reason I'm ready now is because of all the cards I made for challenges last October, November and December.  I also have a number of new Christmas things that I want to play with so you'll be seeing a lot more in the coming weeks.

Thanks for dropping by.

The Flower Challenge #103 - Reminder

There's still time for you to make a card for The Flower Challenge using either heat or dry embossing.

I used dry embossing for my first card so this one features heat embossing.

The Mondo Sakura from EH (oob) was stamped and gold heat embossed on Hammermill paper.  The blossoms were inked in the center with Spun Sugar Distress Ink and masked to color the background with Victorian Velvet, Seedless Preserves and Hickory Smoke.

We hope you will join us for this embossing challenge.

AAA Cards #254

I saw several cards in the Just Us Girls gallery that were also made for AAA Cards and they inspired me to make one for their challenge.

The Woodware nativity and sentiment were stamped and heat embossed in gold on black.   I needed white too so I cut the panel with a lacy die from Reverse Confetti.  QACAS!

This will be the start of next year's cards.  I think I should have made two.

Thanks for dropping by.

Time Out #252

It's getting close to Christmas and Time Out would like to see your winter/holiday cards.

I got a new set from Memory Box at the Ellen Hutson close-out sale and thought it would be great for making multiple Christmas cards.  I sent out 17 to the homebound members of my former church and this will be great for their cards..

The image was heat embossed in gold and watercolored with Distress Inks.  The sentiment is from Sunny Studios.

This challenge is being sponsored by Birch Press.  The winner will be awarded a $20 store credit.

The Design Team and I hope you'll make a card for the challenge. It's a great chance to make those last minute Christmas cards.

52 Christmas Card Throwdown 41.23

It's the 41st week of challenges at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown.  I've played in a lot of them and have another for this week's sketch challlenge.

The Mica sprayed Waffle Flower poinsettia was on my desk left over from another project.  I added a plaid strip and gold heat embossed sentiment from Penny Black.  QACAS.

Thanks for dropping by.

Krafty Chicks #681

This is the week for Krafty Chicks' Christmas challenge.

I got this Concord and 9th Boughs and Holly set last year because I thought the wreath stencils would be great for make multiples.  There is also a background stencil and I used it with Altenew Inks. The stamps and dies that make up the sentiment are add-ons.  It's always great to add one more Christmas card to my stash.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a great week.

CAS Christmas - May 2021 and Inkspirational #238

While looking for a foliage and berries stamp for CAS Christmas I found one that also works for the sketch challenge at Inkspirational.

The image is an old one from Penny Black, heat embossed in gold and watercolored with Distress Inks.  The sentiment is from PTI.

I'm glad you dropped by.  Have a wonderful week.

Less Is More #440

It's a color challenge at Less Is More and after seeing some of the gorgeous cards already in the gallery I hesitated on making anything.  Then I saw a card Darnell made with the Penny Black Critter Celebration set and knew that it would work perfectly with the colors: pink, grey and gold.

I stamped and heat embossed both the image and sentiment in gold on Bristol and used my Zigs to add color.

I hope your day is extra special even if it's not your birthday. ;)

The Flower Challenge #52 - Reminder

There's still time to join us at The Flower Challenge for our embossing challenge.  My earlier card had an embossed background.  This card features embossed flowers.

In fact the Christmas Rose from WPlus9 is gold embossed on vellum.  I saw this card from Jaycee and love it so much I had to make my own version.  After embossing I colored on the back with my new alcohol markers from Altenew.  The word die from SSS was cut from gold foil cs. The photography isn't very good but you can still see some of the shine.

The rest of the Design Team has cards to inspire you.  Will we see your embossed card in the gallery?  Just remember that flowers must be the focal point.

CAS Christmas May 2020

I had several ways to go with my card for CAS Christmas - Winter Berries.  After much deliberation I settled on a PTI Botanical Block so I could use my metallic watercolors from Altenew.
The image was gold heat embossed on black watercolor paper, painted and trimmed. The sentiment from HLS was also gold embossed.  Since two images fit on the watercolor paper, I painted a second card the same.  It's always good to have more Christmas cards ready.

Thanks for dropping by.  Stay safe.

CASology #364

The challenge at CASology sparked an idea right away so I had to make a card using their code word:  Tea
The tea cup and sentiment, both embossed in gold,  are from Altenew.  I paper pieced the cup from an old paper pack.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope your weekend is going well and you're keeping safe.

Inkspirational #196

When Michele and I had a crafting meet at my cottage, she had some orange paper that she wasn't liking very much and gave it to me to see if I could do anything with it.  Challenge accepted!  Then along came the challenge at Inkspirational and it is the perfect spot for my card.
The paper came to me with the hemstitch piercing already on it.  I thought white pumpkins from SSS with gold leaves and a gold embossed sentiment from CB would look lovely on the bright orange. Was I right?  Can't waste that paper. :D

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a wonderful day!

Happy Little Stampers Christmas - June

Are you ready to make another Christmas card for Happy Little Stampers?  I went with the option.
I used some of my Altenew DSP behind the EbyE mondo poinsettia embossed in gold on vellum.  For the sentiment I layered a TH sentiment die in black under gold.

I hope you'll check out what non-traditional cards the Design Team has made to inspire you to make a card for our challenge.

Thanks for stopping by.

Inkspirational #187

I've done gold dipped sentiments before and since Inkspirational wants to see gold dipped for their challenge I thought I'd oblige. I also wanted to try the 'baby wipe' technique again that was featured on CAS Mix-Up.  My card is not quite CAS enough to send to them too but I love the results I got.
The background was created by smooshing DOX onto glossy paper and then wiping it with a baby wipe once it's dry.  To tie into the gold, I watered down some Inka Gold and smooshed that too.  The sentiment from CP was cut from black paper, heat embossed and layered on black foam.

Thanks for dropping by.
