Happy Little Stampers Christmas - April

For April, the challenge at Happy Little Stampers Christmas is:

I don't often do scenes on my cards but I had to pull out my favorite Inside Bear from EbyE to make my card.

First I made a snowy day sky with MFT clouds and cut a slope from SSS.  Then I colored the Bear Ware bits and pieces with PolyChromos pencils and arranged them on the background.  I thought the sentiment from PB fit the Santa bear perfectly. 

Festive animals are optional for your card.  Will you use one or do something else?  The Design Team can't wait to see your card in our gallery.

Happy Little Stampers Christmas - December

We're getting near the end people.  It's December and I'm offering you a chance to make another Christmas card for Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge.  This month the option is Candy Cane. 

Did I go with the option?  You know I did!

I watercolored the RC candy canes with Zigs and then wondered what to do with them.  I went searching for some DP and found this cute one in an ancient paper pack.  The background is not white or cream but when I put this pink against it, it looked perfect.  I cut the panel with a RC die and stamped it with a CP sentiment.

CAS Christmas and CAS Mix-Up - September

I have two more Christmas cards for my stash thanks to CAS Christmas and CAS Mix-Up.

For this card I used a NBUS stamp from RC.  I mean aren't candy canes the ultimate holiday treat?

The oval hemstitch is from Spellbinders and the sentiment is from CP.  The image is colored with Zigs and Distress Ink shows through the die cut.

I discovered that a die from PPP makes perfect inchies so I used that to cut a digital image of mistletoe.

Stamping (sentiment), My choice = Watercoloring, heat embossing, Glossy Accent

I watercolored the mistletoe with Zigs, then heat embossed the berries with Wanderlust.  A little Glossy Accent was added to the bow and then the inchies were mounted on silver paper.  The final touch was the sentiment from HLS.

Merry Monday #284

It's time for a red and white card at Merry Monday. 

I pulled out my CP peppermint striped background stamp and inked it up with Candied Apple DOX.  The label die, candy canes and sentiment are all from CP.  I added a little Glossy Accents to the canes. 

I just counted and I have 47 Christmas cards already done.  Some were left from last year but most have been made for challenges this year.  There's no doubt I'll be ready when it comes time to mail them out.

It almost looked like Christmas here with snow covering the ground this morning. And it's snowing again.  Come on Spring!

 

Merry Monday #281

It's time for another Merry Monday challenge and there is a photo for inspiration.

I know a lot of crafters have numerous cups/mugs in their collection because they do coffee challenges. I'm not a coffee drinker so I have limited cup stamps most of which are tiny.  I fell back on my trusty old PTI jar for my card.

The winter jar set has candy canes so I stamped them after masking the hot chocolate and colored them with Zigs.  I added a tag from MCS and some DSP down the sides.  I love that I'm getting all these Christmas cards done.  I was so excited to see that last week this card was the winner of the challenge.

Addicted to CAS #125

Addicted to CAS is celebrating its 5th Birthday with this challenge featuring the code word:

For my card I used Candy Cane Lane from CP along with her label die that's popped up on fun foam.  I thought I'd use pink and chartreuse instead of the traditional red and green for a bit of fun.

Merry Monday #225 and Christmas Card Challenge #1

I have another Christmas card ready for next year's stash and it's for Merry Monday.

They asked for candy canes and I gave them candy canes.  These are from Catherine Pooler stamped in HA Pale Tomato.  I added some extra candies and tied in their color with the border around the sentiment.

Thanks to Joyce, I heard about another Christmas card challenge, aptly called Christmas Card Challenge and they also have the option of candy canes so I'm sending my card over there too.

So much to do and so little time left.  I hope your preparations are done or nearly done.

Just Us Girls #373

It's trend week at Just Us Girls and Nancy has chosen 'Jars'.

There are pint jars and quart jars.  Jars of jam or jars to hold a spring bouquet.  Whatever you imagine a jar being or doing, make it into a card. You could be Chic of the Week and possibly guest design for a month.  I used my jars to hold Christmas candy.

The jars and candy are from PTI, stamped on Bristol board and colored with Zigs.  Yes I see that smudge on the side of the candy canes.  I tried to add some shading to the jar and the red ran.  I think it looks like a shadow on the glass.  That's my story and I'm sticking to it. ;)  In fact I smudged a little green to make it look like I did it on purpose.

The Challenge #83

The Challenge was the perfect opportunity to use some of my Stamp of Approval stamps from Catherine Pooler.

I love that silver metallic embossing powder from WOW that I used on the little bow.  It comes close to the sparkle on the silver paper.

I spent today crafting with the fabulous Michele Ferguson, of I Card Everyone.  We played with my new Brushos, traded papers and used each others new supplies between eating, sharing stories and generally enjoying each others company.  I don't know why we didn't get a picture of the two of us but stay tuned for cards.
