Inkspirational #349

I knew when I saw the challenge at Inkspirational that I was going to have to get creative.  I didn't bring any tag dies with me, or any thread/ribbon.  I went scrounging and found some heavy twine and that meant I needed to make a rustic card.

I cut the pine cone and greens from Honey Bee's Winter Foliage and then pondered what to make the tag from.  Spellbinder's Four Petal Nesting Dies to the rescue.  I used a small circle die from another set and a tag was born.  And why not make a shaped card while I'm at it so I cut the larger size Petal die, inking the edges of both with Rocky Shores.  It needed more so I added the PB script in the background before popping up the tag. The sentiment is from Altenew.

The Paper Players #712

I went looking for a couple of challenges to play in yesterday and found The Paper Players.  The challenge closes soon so this is a quick post for a quick Clean and Simple card.

I started with blending Distress Inks on a panel of Bristol and cutting a Hero Arts tag from it.  The Santa silhouette is from Tim Holtz and the sentiment from Penny Black.  A little black and white twine finished it off.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a great day!

Just Us Girls #729 - CASE the Designer

It's the fifth Thursday in May and time for a CASE the Designer challenge at Just Us Girls, hosted by Vicki.

This is your chance to get ideas from our Design Team and CASE their card, making it your own. I hope I made it easy for you to be inspired by my card.

I have always loved the Tim Holtz wildflower dies and wanted to use them on my card.  I picked two of the dies, the daisy and what looks like an ageratum, cut them from Bristol and colored them with Zigs.  They are tied together with a die from The Greetery from which hangs a tag and sentiment from My Craft Spot (oob).  The background is a gel plate pull that was in my Bits Box.

There are so many options for you to choose from to CASE a card and I hope you will find one that inspires you to enter one into the gallery.

The Flower Challenge #88 - Reminder

There is still time for you to make a card for The Flower Challenge.  We want you to add a heart to your flowers this month.

For this card I added hearts to the background with a cover plate from Honey Bee.  The wildflowers are also from Honey Bee, colored with Distress Inks and tied together with a tag that has a heart on it. I have a package of tiny white hearts that were given to me by Darnell some time ago, leftovers from a card she sent.  They come in handy every now and then.

How will you add a heart to your card?  For more inspiration be sure to check out what the Design Team has made for you.

Just Us Girls #595 - Wild Card

It's Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls and Ina is hosting.  Here's what she picked for the challenge.

Having lots of tags since I was once on a Tag Design Team, I decided to make use of one of them.

The tag die is from PTI .  I cut a square to fit inside and blended on some Distress Ink. The little forget-me-nots are from The Greetery watercolored with DI.  I added a sentiment from Penny Black and some ages old baker's twine.

You have lots of options for this challenge so I hope you'll enter.  Check out what the Design Team and our guest Chrissie have done.

The Card Concept #153

When I have just what I need to make a card, I'm impelled to make one.  Such is the case at The Card Concept.

Lavender from PTI in a container from Penny Black with a little sentiment tag from My Craft Spot (oob) and my clean and layered card is done.

The stamps were colored with PolyChromos pencils.

Thanks for dropping by.  I love it when you do.

Inspired By #119

You know those little stamps that you often overlook?  I decided that one of them would make a great card for Inspired By based on this photo.
See the bouquets on the fabric?  The one from BearWare by EbyE worked well to make my 'fabric'.
I forgot about the Woven Stripes that I got from C9 and that's what started the idea for my card.  I stamped, watercolored with DI and sprinkled the posies around.  The sentiment comes from Warm Fuzzies that I stamped on a FS tag and tied on some button thread to mimic that on the flowers.

Since this is the initial use of the background stamp and the sentiment, I'm also sending this to Darnell's NBUS challenge.

CAS Christmas - January 20

It's serendipitous that the CAS Christmas challenge is "tag".  I happened to have a tag I made for the now defunct Tag You're It! and it will work for this challenge as long as the team think it's CAS enough.

The images are from MFT and colored with PolyChromos pencils.  My NBUS Nordic frame from The Greetery makes a clean backdrop and lets a little of the yellow show through.

Thanks for dropping by today.  It makes me happy when you visit.

Tag You're It! #87

Nancy is the host at Tag You're It!
and this is what she has chosen this for challenge.
I started out with a different design and then decided maybe I was to use the colors on the banner so I changed it up a bit and ended up with this.
The flowers are from Altenew's Wildflower Garden, stamped in a variety of Altenew inks and die cut.  I placed them on a PTI tag tied with pink and white twine.

We look forward to seeing what you make in Spring colors.  Head on over to the blog for more inspiration from the Design Team.

Just Us Girls #485 - Photo Week

The colors in Ina's photo for color week at Just Us Girls are gorgeous.
I tried a couple of ideas that didn't work so I turned to my alcohol inks.
I placed the die cut panel on black cs, added a flower silhouette and a tag with a sentiment from TE.

The Design Team and our guest designer Christine have some fabulous cards using this photo as inspiration.  We hope you'll make a card and enter it in our gallery this week.  If you are the winner, you will have a chance at being a guest designer in June.

AAA Card Challenge #135

The AAA Card Challenge was a little different this time.  Sort of like a tic tac toe but with a pie chart instead.   There is also a 'friend' option and (gasp) I didn't use it.
Now that I'm posting this I see I may not have followed one of the pie pieces correctly.  See if you can figure out what I did.
Yes, it says ONE matted layer and I have two. :(  Good thing I also stamped and die cut so with the colored pencils I have three pieces of the pie.  The lavender, tag and sentiment are from PTI.  I need more sympathy cards so went with that instead of using the friend option.

I'm so glad you dropped by.  Please leave a comment as I love reading them.

Happy Little Stampers Christmas - Tags

This month the Christmas Challenge at Happy Little Stampers has the option of using a tag.

Of course I did. ;)
I bought this paper pack six years ago and I don't know why since it has such different colored papers in it.  I'm trying to use long neglected items in my craft room and although I have used some of this paper I thought it was time to use more.  The large tag is from CP and the smaller one from SSS is the same shape, stamped with a sentiment from C9.  I tied them together with some hemp and that was it.  EZPZ.

We'd love to see your Christmas cards in the gallery - tag or not.

CAS(E) This Sketch #303

CAS(E) This Sketch likes to pull out one of their older sketches for a retro challenge every now and then. Today's sketch is only a little over a year old and the card I made for that one is here.
It's a gift 'wrapped' in DSP and topped with an Altenew bow. I added a tag so you know who it's for.  This was such an EZPZ QACAS card that I can see making multiples if I run out of cards next Christmas.

I'm so happy you dropped by.  Have a wonderful day!

Time Out #125 - Inspired by Words

I knew right away what I wanted to use for a sentiment on my card for Time Out which is the opposite of how I usually roll.  I make a card and then agonize over what sentiment to put with it.  This time I agonized over the design of the card.  I practiced a few things that ended up in the recycle bin until I decided to use something in my WTDWT (what to do with this) drawer.
I tried a few stencil monoprints for another challenge and this one didn't make the cut but I liked it enough to save it.  I thought it looked perky enough to use with the copper embossed sentiment from Hero Arts, one that's been in my stash and unused for way too long.  Here's what inspired me.
I hope you all live your life with joy.

12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Touch - Day 2

My last tag for the 12 Tags with a Feminine Twist challenge is up today.  I wish I had time to do more but things are getting busy and I don't need any more to use.  This tag was inspired by Carissa Wiley on Day 2 of the challenge.  Here's my take on her tag.
This will go nicely with my black and white plaid gift bag.  The greens are TH, the tag HA, the grid SSS and the sentiment CPD.

And here's Carissa's tag.

Off to get myself prettied up for the holidays and pick up a few last minute gifts. I'll be back later with one last Christmas card - or two. ;)

12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist

I needed a tag for my great-granddaughter's gift and what better inspiration than Julie Ebersole on Day 10  of the 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist - Non-traditional colors.  Julie used the EbyE Pop-Up Mittens for hers and so did I.

I stamped my cs with the plaid from Concord and 9th in pink and gray, cut one mitten and then a second out of white for the secondary tag to write my message.  A little silver snowflake from the set matches the silver cord to tie on the package.

Have you made your own tags this year?

Ellen Hutson's 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist II

I have another tag for the 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist challenge.  This one was inspired by Kelly Griglione on day 9 - watercolor tags.
The little owl is from Winnie and Walter, colored with Inktense pencils.  Here are Kelly's darling tags.

I'll have another one tomorrow.
