Just Us Girls #725 - Color Week

I'm the host of Color Week at Just Us Girls.  Here are the colors for you to use on your card.

I must have seen something in those colors that inspired me to choose them but when it came time to make a card I couldn't remember what it was.  No problem.  I had other ideas.

All dies are cut from white paper and colored with a variety of inks  The Coneflowers are Simon Hurley and the rest including the crate are from Honey Bee.  The background is a brick folder from Alltenew. 

The Design Team and our guest have lovely cards to show you using the challenge colors.  I hope they inspire you to make a card for the gallery.

Freshly Made Sketches #627

Hey there.  I'm so glad you dropped by.

It usually takes me a while to figure out a card for Freshly Made Sketches but Karren's sketch gave me the perfect opportunity to pull out my Honey Bee Coneflower once I turned the sketch upside down. 

The petals were cut in C9 Carnation and inked with Altenew Pinkalicious.  I found the matching patterned paper in a pack from Penny Black.  I love Coneflowers and would love to plant some in the back yard.

Freshly Made Sketches #591

Sometimes what looks like the easiest sketch is the most difficult to actually achieve.  I had to think a while and go through my meager stash before I came across an idea for Freshly Made Sketches.

I cut white cardstock with the edge die from Spellbinders.  Then I rehearsed different papers to go with it for the background.  Just like in Goldilocks, some were too light and some too dark.  Just right was this colorwash look from HoneyBee.   The flower from Simon Hurley was cut from the strip leftover when I cut the background.  The sentiment from Altenew was stamped in dark brown to go with the flower center.

Just Us Girls #631 - Word Week

This week's challenge at Just Us Girls is perfect for me.  For Word Week Vicki has chosen 

I must admit that I didn't notice the plural until after my card was done but I love it so I'm going with it.

The coneflower is a HoneyBee die, cut from pink cardstock and inked with Salt Water Taffy.  I cut a stem for it and used the same color for the leaves, inking them with Peeled Paint.  For the background, I stamped the sentiment from Penny Black and then embossed the Catherine Pooler coverplate rather than cutting it.  It gives a more subtle look.

Color Hues #29

I've been making cards just for fun so haven't entered a challenge in a while.  Today's card is for Color Hues.  

I pulled out my Honey Bee coneflower and gave the die cuts a good inking with Distress in Dried Marigold, Spiced Marmalade and Ground Expresso.  The PTI frame was die cut from textured cardstock and layered three times over a TH stencil and PB sentiment.

Just Us Girls #603 - Photo Week

It's Photo Week at Just Us Girls and Ina has chosen this for you to base your card on.

That is such a lovely bunch of lilacs filling the bucket.  I don't have lilacs or a bucket but I think these will do.

I used Honey Bee's coneflower dies, cutting them from Bristol and adding color with a blending brush.  I happened to have the scalloped panel in my box so added the flowers to it and then on my card base.  I didn't add a sentiment but this has already gone to my daughter for her birthday. 

Our wonderful guest designer, Loll Thompson, and the rest of the Design Team can't wait to see what you make for the challenge.  They have some beautiful cards for you to see and be inspired by over on the blog.  We do hope you'll enter.

The Paper Players #547 and NBUS #28

I haven't played at The Paper Players for a while and I thought their sketch was a great one for my NBUS HoneyBee Coneflower die. 

I used CP inks to blend color on the petals (Altenew for the cone) and glued them only at the center.  A WF panel was cut from kraft paper, inked around the edge with the same brown and stamped with a sentiment from Sunny Studio.  I can't wait to ink this flower up in other colors.
