Time Out #299 - Photo Inspiration

We have an interesting photo to inspire your card at Time Out.

Here's a close up view.

I have a die from Altenew called Framed that I hadn't used in ages and knew I could do something with it to replicate that wall.

Taking a photo of this card was a horror story with all the gold and holographic paper but I love how the card turned out.  I already had the textured gold cardstock and embossed the one in the upper right, layering the frames for dimension.  The sentiment is from Spellbinders and the mirrors were arranged on woodgrain paper.

I thought you might like to see a picture of my brother's half bath.  His wife has decorated with mirrors like our inspiration photo.

Lawn Fawn is our sponsor for this photo challenge with the winner getting $25 in store credit.

AAA Birthday #70

They are featuring one of my favorite techniques over at AAA Birthday - Ink Smooshing.  I got inky and made two cards.

This smooshing used a combination of Uncharted Mariner and Pine Needles Distress Inks.  Many layers later I was happy with the results but thought it needed something more.  Out came my new Terrazzo press plate from Altenew that was inked with Lisa Horton silver.  The border is C9 Peacock and the sentiment from PB was cut from holographic paper.

The second card has a darker vibe.  The same colors as above with a little Scorched Timber thrown in.  The Terrazzo was done in dark brown which is also the color of the border.  I tried a dark brown sentiment but it didn't show up so I picked out a lighter color using the dark brown as a shadow but it's not very visible in the photo.  It was fun playing with inks and now I have two masculine cards to add to my stash.

Thanks for dropping by.

Inkspirational #285

My great-grandson has a birthday coming up in a few weeks so I used the prompt from Inkspirational to make him a card.

I started with the Numbers embossing folder, cutting it to 3 3/4 by 5, and placing it on polka dot paper. The balloons from Altenew were cut from primary colors and holographic numbers added to them.  Silver thread ties them to the card front.

Thanks for dropping by.

Time Out #221 and HLS Anything Goes with Dies

Time Out wants to see festive cards in their gallery.  Who can resist that theme.  I know I can't.

I had the foiled HoneyBee background in my B&P box.  The Concord and 9th candles were cut from holographic paper with gold sparkly flames added.  The celebrate die from Altenew is the reverse foiling of the word, cut with the accompanying shadow die.

It's not often I make an all die card so I'm also sending this over to Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope your week is off to a great start.

Time Out #215

I finally took a good look at the photo at Time Out and got an idea.

See those triangles in the pictures on the wall?  Once they caught my attention I was ready to make a card.

I used a die from Erin Lee Creative and cut it from navy cardstock to mimic the sofas.  Then I filled the triangles with holographic paper of different designs.  The panel was trimmed and matted with navy and a sentiment from MFT added.   I need more masculine cards and this one fills the bill.
