Inspired By #156 and Time Out # 177
It looked like New Year's Eve celebrations on the photos at Inspired By and Time Out. My card can be used for any celebration although it will probably be for a birthday.
I used the balloons from Concord and 9th's Birthday Stacks, embossed them in white and painted them with Altenew metalllic paint to give a translucent look. The strings and sentiment were heat embossed in silver.Sunday, December 13, 2020
Inspired By #154
With challenges still happening, I'm getting a good head start on next year's Christmas cards. This one is for Inspired By.
I was inspired by the holly and two different greens. I cut two Penny Black dies from black watercolor paper and painted them with Altenew metallic paints. The PB sentiment was white heat embossed and the black cardstock splattered with white and green before attaching the holly.Friday, May 15, 2020
CAS Christmas May 2020
The image was gold heat embossed on black watercolor paper, painted and trimmed. The sentiment from HLS was also gold embossed. Since two images fit on the watercolor paper, I painted a second card the same. It's always good to have more Christmas cards ready.
Thanks for dropping by. Stay safe.

Just Us Girls #527 - Trend Week
Using a black background can really make any images you place on it really pop. I chose this trend because I wanted to use my NBUS Altenew metallic watercolors.
The Adore You flowers from Altenew were arranged on black watercolor paper and embossed in copper. I had to play around a bit to get the color on without obliterating the lines of the flowers but you can see how well the paint works on black. I ended up adding spatters in the leaf color and a sentiment from the same set.
The Design Team and our guest Vicky Hayes have a variety of cards with black backgrounds to inspire you to enter our challenge. You may be our Chic of the Week with a chance to be a future guest designer.

Time Out #153
I've been wanting to use my Altenew metallic watercolors since I got them a couple months ago. This design proved to be a good place to break them out. I heat embossed the flowers and butterfly from Altenew's Hibiscus Garden in white and die cut them. Color was added to the butterfly (see photo below). It seemed perfect for a sympathy card with a sentiment from MCS.
