Freshly Made Sketches #706

I'm finally back in my main studio and jumped right in to making a card for Freshly Made Sketches.

I turned Tim's Festive Wreath into a Halloween one by adding skulls, a spider and crossbones from Tim's Frightful things.  The orange background was stamped with Honey Bee's web in Versa Mark and covered with Perfect Pearls.  The sentiment paper is from Doodlebug.

Tic Tac Toe #228

I don't know if Felicita meant for us to do Halloween cards at Tic Tac Toe but the board sure suggests that to me.  I used the diagonal row bottom left to upper right.

The spider and web are from Honey Bee.  It was stamped on the card front after ink blending with Carved Pumpkin, Villianous Potion and Black Soot Distress Inks.  A touch of shimmer spritz was added before the sentiment from EbyE, that was cut from C9 black foil, was attached.

Thanks for dropping by.

AAA Cards #201

Today's card is for the AAA Challenge - use one corner, optional 'Boo'.  I hope 'Eek' works as well.

I'm sorry but the items on my card are from companies no longer in business. The web is stamped in black and glitter embossed and the spider is cut from flocked paper.  It looks way better IRL.

CAS(E) This Sketch #340

I don't think the intent was to encourage Halloween cards when CAS(E) This Sketch posted their sketch but that's what it inspired me to do.
A little ink blending with DOX and some water spritzing made the background to place my PS web cut from glitter paper.  A silver glitter spider hangs from it to scare whoever walks by.

Thanks for dropping by.  I love it when you do.

CASology #219 and Less Is More #298

I had this card made for CASology (Spooky) and it ended up being just the thing for the Less Is More challenge (Spiders).
What could be spookier than a jar of spiders, especially when they begin to crawl out.  Eek is right. A number of companies played together to make this happen.  PTI jar and spider, W&W web and word, and CP for the stripe background.

Thanks for dropping by and have a great weekend.

AAA Cards #50

I don't think you can get a Halloween card more CAS than this unless you put two eyes on a white card and called it a ghost.  CAS is what they're asking for over at AAA Cards and I aim to please.
I got a new Texture Fade from Tim Holtz and tried a technique that didn't work the way I expected but still liked the results.  I inked it up with Unicorn White thinking the web would be white.  I guess not but it still shows the web off and that was the point.  A little sentiment from W&W embossed in Verdigris and a die from PS embossed the same and that's all there is to it.

I'm glad you dropped by.

Curtain Call, W & W Rerun, and The Challenge #45

I've been on a Halloween card making streak and to day I have two for three different challenges.  First up is for Curtain Call - Going Batty.
I masked the moon and then black embossed the two sizes of bats from W & W's Moonlight.  The sky is inked with Distress Inks and I liked the way the moon looked with ink over the edges of the mask so when I removed the mask I did a little more inking.  The sentiment from MFT is embossed in white on a scrap of black.  I wiped off the static powder before the sentiment was dry which left streaks that I quite liked.  This will be my second entry into the Winnie and Walter Moonlight Rerun.

Card number two started out with me inking up a Tim Holtz 'shattered' stencil in black on white just to see if it would look like a spider web.  It looked great but then how would I use it.  The Challenge to the rescue.
The circle, vampire and sentiment are from MFT and that black embossed spider from W&W.  I'm sure there will be more Halloween challenges before the end of October.  Can I come up with any new ideas?

I'm so glad you dropped by.  You're all 'fang-tastic'.

Paper Smooches Sparks

This is my first time entering a Paper Smooches Sparks challenge but since I was planning a Halloween card using their dies, I thought why not use the sketch and enter.
The web is cut from vellum and the spider from glitter paper.  The DP is something I've had forever and the sentiment is from W & W stamped in Unicorn White.  Simple, easy and a little scary if you don't like spiders.  Here's a close-up.
This is my second post today - something I don't do often.  I'm glad you came back to check this one out.

CAS(E) This Sketch #140 and Big News

Big new people! I mean BIG BIG news.  It doesn't have anything to do with card making but it's rocked my world.  I am a great grandma (or Gramby as they call me) for the second time.  My granddaughter Allyson and her husband Matt and son Noah welcomed beautiful Hannah Leigh into the family yesterday.  Mom and baby doing fine.

Now for the card news.  I have one for CAS(E) This Sketch. Give you one guess what kind it is.  Yup.  Halloween.

Winnie and Walter contributed the web border and sentiment.  A little strip of green lizard look (which looks more black in the photo) and some torn orange Core-dinations make up the specs of the sketch.

Thanks for dropping by.

Color Throwdown #356

When I saw the colors for the Color Throwdown I immediately thought of Halloween.

That's not quite true.  I thought of Halloween after thinking of a Monarch butterfly but that's too close to the inspiration photo.

First I stamped the web from Winnie & Walter in the corner and then cut a panel with a LF stitched rectangle.  My new Twisted Citron along with Dried Marigold Distress Inks added the color and then a few spiders and the customary shriek finished it off.

Thanks for stopping by.  Your visits and comments are always appreciated.

CAS(E) This Sketch #136

Simple sketch but what to do?  What to do?

I used my Winnie & Walter Halloween stamps a while ago and remembered they had the perfect stamp for this.

A little sentiment from Clearly Besotted and I have another Halloween card ready to send to my grandchildren like I do every year.

Why don't you slip on over to CAS(E) This Sketch to see what others have done and then enter a card of your own?
