Less Is More #489

Less is More has a one layer card with a photo inspiration challenge this week.  This is my interpretation.

An image from Altenew's Pen Sketched Flowers was stamped in Nocture ink and colored with artist markers.  The sentiment is from the same set.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a wonderful week.

Less Is More #473

I love black and white together.  It has such a classic and elegant look. These are the colors for the challenge at Less Is More and I just hope my card is 'less' enough for them.

This was made from the negative of a foiled card using the Flowery Bouquet from Altenew.  I trimmed the panel, added it to a white cardbase and popped on the foiled sentiment from PinkFresh Studio.  I love being able to use the leftover foiling and this one worked beautifully.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a great week!

Less Is More #466 and NBUS #39

Before I get into my card for today, I have a little bookkeeping to take care of.  When I converted from Feedburner to my own method of email subscriptions, I also started a new email account to take care of blog business.  It seems that some of the contacts that I had under my personal email did not transfer over.  I have now made sure that all of the subscribers are listed under the bobby.bitsandpieces email address.  I'm sorry for those who haven't been getting my posts.

Less Is More is asking for masculine cards - the one kind we seem to have trouble with.  Since I do a lot of floral cards, I don't have a lot of stamps/dies that work for men.  I recently took advantage of a sale at PTI and bought some of their mini bird sets.  I love birds and think they make great masculine cards.

I stamped him using Altenew inks, layered him up three times and put him on a branch included in the set. The sentiment is from MFT.

I'm sending this to NBUS since both the bird and sentiment are new.

Thanks for dropping by.  I love it when you visit.

LIM #463 and ATCAS #218

My Dad would often say of supper "Not bad for a quickly thrown together meal".  Now I'm saying "Not bad for a quickly thrown together card".  I went looking for a challenge and ran across two that had the same prompt - One Layer Card. The deadline for Addicted to CAS is today so I had to find something in a hurry.  In a quest to use my older stamps, I went with the Lotus from Altenew.

I did the layered stamping but enhanced the images with PolyChromos pencils.  The sentiment is from PTI.  It looks crooked in the photo but it's actually the card that's crooked.  I can't seem to take a straight picture to save my soul.  Less Is More wants their image off center, hence the placement of the lotus.

Thanks for dropping by.  How quickly can you make a card?

Less Is More #448

I haven't played at Less Is More in a while but a stormy day means lots of card making.  It was Elaine's birthday and this is her card we are to CASe.

I had this sunflower stamped in brown in my box and decided to finish it, coloring with Zigs.  I added a sentiment from Altenew and some brown splatters before cutting it apart and popping up a couple of the pieces.

Thanks for dropping by.

Less Is More #404

The challenge at Less Is More is to use typography.  I'm busy making Thanksgiving cards so I chose a sentiment from N&T.
For the background I made a block print using Distress Oxides on an embossed panel, spritzing it with water for some texture.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope your week is off to a good start.
