AAA Cards #144

It's Christmas in July at AAA Cards and here's my CAS card for their challenge.

Everything but the Glossy Accents on the candle are from WPlus9.  Oh and the ink.  It's Altenew.  And the paper.  It's PTI.  Now why oh why didn't I make a bunch of these.  Duh.

Just Us Girls #471 - Color Week

It's color week at Just Us Girls and our hostess Angie has chosen these colors for our cards.

That makes it easy because you can choose any colors you want as long as they are pastel.

I recently got the pattern dies from EByE and thought one would make a great background for my flowers, letting the pastel blue show through.  The flowers are from WPlus9 and the sentiment from PTI.

Just Us Girls #457 - Trend Week

Carol is our host for Trend Week at Just Us Girls and her trend is

I wasn't sure if she meant we had to hand draw images or if we could use images that look hand drawn.  To cover myself I went with both.

I drew the border before placing my Doodlebuds from WPlus9 that I colored with Zigs.  The stems are stamped directly on the front and a couple of the flowers are popped up.

Just Us Girls #429 - Photo Week

Signs of Spring are the focus of Lisa's photo for this week's Just Us Girls.

I don't have any crocus stamps but I think my WPlus9 hellebore set does the trick.

The Flower Challenge #17

I remember years ago when Holly Hobby was in vogue and we used to make shadow boxes by cutting images of her and layering the bits and pieces to make it look 3D.  That's really dating me I know but that's what I think of when you say paper piecing.  And I did a similar technique for my card for The Flower Challenge.

I used DoodleBuds from WPlus9 and stamped the flowers on a variety of DSP, fussy cutting it all, layer by layer.  It's a little difficult to see but the centers of the two largest flowers are popped up as are the two center petals on the brown flower.  Even though they are both red, the center of the red flowers is a different paper from the body.  I had so much fun making this and it was a good stamp set to do it with.
