CASology #408

I am so sorry to hear that the CASology challenge is closing at the end of the month.  I have been playing in their challenge for a long time.  In fact I went back and looked at some of the cards I entered and it was fun to do so.  I couldn't let them go off into the sunset without making a card for their last challenge - cozy.

Also recently closed is the stamp company Reverse Confetti.  I used their Christmas Candles for my card, gold heat embossing and layering the candle with greens stamped (and colored) in CP Spruce.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Thank you for 10 years of fun challenges, Melissa, and good luck with your new adventures.  Kudos to your design teams, present and past, for inspiring us to make CAS cards.

Peace on Earth #17

I need to get more Christmas cards made and the Peace on Earth challenge is a good place to show them off.   They have a mood board shown below but I didn't use anything on it.

I've had this set from WPlus9 for ages and I don't know why I even bought it.  I really don't like working with tiny pieces and this set has a lot of them.  I do like the layered greens that look realistic.  The more I work with it the more it might grow on me.

Thanks for dropping by.

Less Is More #399

Celebrations is the theme at Less Is More
and those kind of cards are easy to make.
For my card I cut the MFT word die from 'happy' paper and substituted a candle from Sugar Pea for the 'L'.  QACAS.  Or EZPZ.   Whichever acronym you prefer. 😄

Have a great day and thanks for dropping by.

AAA Cards #144

It's Christmas in July at AAA Cards and here's my CAS card for their challenge.
Everything but the Glossy Accents on the candle are from WPlus9.  Oh and the ink.  It's Altenew.  And the paper.  It's PTI.  Now why oh why didn't I make a bunch of these.  Duh.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a wonderful day.

CAS(E) This Sketch #260

The CAS(E) This Sketch challenges seem to roll around quickly.  This is their current sketch.
Large sentiment.  Small embellishment.  I can do that.
A stencil from CPD and DOXs make up the background.  The sentiment is from SSS and the candle, heavily coated with Glossy Accents, is from PTI.

I love it when you drop by.  I hope you leave a comment to let me know you were here.

Less Is More #356 and 25 Days of Christmas Tags - 12

From Christmas tree lights to Rudolph's nose, a lot of things shine at this time of year.  My shining example for Less Is More is a candle.
The PB image was watercolored with Zigs and framed with a NBUS die from Altenew that I chose with my winnings from Dies to Die For as part of The Flower Challenge's birthday celebration.  The die is stacked three layers thick with the top one embossed with a woodgrain folder.  This was mounted on some Fog cardstock above the sentiment from C9.

I have one last tag for Tracey's 25 Days of Christmas Tags.  Again I have an owl tag because that's the only Christmas Lawn Fawn image I have.
Are you seeing a trend here?  You should see my house and all the owls that reside here. ;)  The tag is actually an ornament die from CF.  I was inspired by this tag from Chari Moss on day 12.

Last night I got out all the tags I have made and began turning them into cards.  I went through patterned papers and embossing folders until I had a match for every tag.  Today I will put them together and be ready to get them mailed.  I think I said earlier that I send out about 45 cards.  I updated my mailing list last night and it is at 75.  How did I ever make that mistake?  It's a good thing I have leftovers from last year and all those tags.

Thanks for dropping by.

CASology #257

There are so many ways to use the cue word "Wish" for the CASology challenge but the easiest for me was to use it as part of my sentiment.  I found out I have at least three "Make a Wish" sentiments but I chose this one from SSS.
I heat embossed it in white and then taped off either side to do some DOX inking on a one layer card. The paper tape didn't stick well and the ink went outside the lines. To save it I cut it into a small panel and mounted it on a black scrap.  Since it was no longer one layer I added a candle from PTI for fun. Great birthday card for any age.

Thanks for dropping by.

CASology #226

Just a quick post before I miss the deadline for CASology.   I was having trouble with my card but it came together tonight.

The stamp from PB is colored with Inktense Pencils.  Quick and easy, clean and simple, once I got the stamping down and used the right paper.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope your week gets off to a great start.
