Just Us Girls #677 - Wild Card Week

It's the fifth Saturday so according to custom it's Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls.  Our host Vicki has chosen "CASE a Design Team Member."

That means you should choose a card from any of the designers on the blog and make a card based on their design.  Here is my card should you choose to CASE it.

The black-eyed Susans from SSS are stamped on Bristol and colored with Zigs.  The panel was cut with The Greetery's Crimped Frames, splattered with Wild Honey DI and layered on yellow cs. The heat embossed sentiment is from The Ton.

I have to say goodbye to Joanne James who has been an incredible guest designer this month.  It was so great having you with us, Joanne.

I hope you will be inspired by the Design Team to make a card for the challenge.  We'd love to see you there.

Just Us Girls #656 - Wild Card Week

When there are five Saturdays in a month the host gets to chose anything she wants for the challenge at Just Us Girls.  This month Carol Mc chose

I don't make a lot of gift tags so this is my first for the year.

I made the little SSS gnome out of scraps of DSP and used some new Fluff It Paste for his beard.  You spread it on with a palette knife and then heat emboss to get the texture.  I'm a little disappointed that it's not pure white.  I gave him a home on diagonal plaid paper cut with a fancy stitched die.

Holiday tags is a wide open theme so you should have no trouble making one or more for our gallery.  Need a little inspiration?  Check out the Design Team and our guest Lynne over on the blog.

Just Us Girls #643 - Wild Card Week

There's an extra Saturday in July and that means Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls. (FYI: It's also my birthday.)  Ina is our host and she has chosen an interesting challenge for us.

You can pick any designer and CASE one of their cards.  For mine, I chose a card I loved from Therese Calvird.

I happened to have that Hydrangea stamp from EH and used my Zigs like Therese did to create this.

I gold heat embossed two images plus extra blossoms and leaves.  I popped one flower head up over the other on darker gray cardstock because that was all I had with me.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

I want to thank Fran Wing for being our July guest.  She and the rest of the team have some wonderfully CASEd designs for you over on the blog.  Enter a card and you may be a future guest designer.

Just Us Girls #630 - WIld Card Week

It's the fifth Saturday in April so it's Wild Card week at Just Us Girls.  Our host Lisa has chosen this prompt.

It's been a while since I've done a tri-fold card and I don't know why because I love them.

This is the front flap of my card.  Actually my second try.  I stamped and colored Kind Soul from WPlus9 on Bristol with Zigs and partially die cut the image.  Making a tri-fold card from heavy cardstock didn't work well so I cut the flowers out completely and glued them onto some Hammermill paper with the front cut.

Here's the middle portion.

It just so happened that I had another set from WPlus9 that had the same flowers so I colored them to match, die cut them and framed the Hero Arts sentiment.

The inside:

There are many ways to do a tri-fold card.  Check out what the Design Team and our guest designer Mac Mable have made to inspire you.  We'd love you to join our gallery.

Just Us Girls #617 - Wild Card Week

There are five Saturdays in January and that means Carol Mc hosts Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls.  For our challenge she has selected

I love a good plaid and they make great masculine cards so that's what I did.

I used Altenew's Tartan stamp but don't ask me what colors since I neglected to write them down when I made this over a month ago.  The sentiment die is unmarked but is layered three times with the top layer black gloss from Concord and 9th.

Come see what kind of plaid our guest designers Chrissie Stokes and Stef Perry do for their last challenge with us.  We are so thankful to have had them with us this month. And let's not forget what the Design Team has made too.  Will you join us in making plaid cards?

Just Us Girls #595 - Wild Card

It's Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls and Ina is hosting.  Here's what she picked for the challenge.

Having lots of tags since I was once on a Tag Design Team, I decided to make use of one of them.

The tag die is from PTI .  I cut a square to fit inside and blended on some Distress Ink. The little forget-me-nots are from The Greetery watercolored with DI.  I added a sentiment from Penny Black and some ages old baker's twine.

You have lots of options for this challenge so I hope you'll enter.  Check out what the Design Team and our guest Chrissie have done.

Just Us Girls #586 - Wild Card Week

On Wild Card Week the host has a chance to pick whatever she wants for the challenge at Just Us Girls.  Angie is our host this week and she picked

How easy is that?  Whether stamped, stenciled or on patterned paper you all have some sort of spots/dots.  As for me, I went with patterned paper.
I got the paper out for another challenge and then realized it didn't follow the guidelines.  I still wanted to use it so I white heat embossed the Monda Sakura from EH, colored it with Zigs to match the dots and added a sentiment from The Ton.

There is plenty of inspiration from the Design Team and our guest designer Jacinda on the blog.  Check out how they used spots and/or dots on their cards and then make one of your own for our gallery.

Just Us Girls #569 - Wild Card Week

It's Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls.  That means there were 5 Saturdays in January and our host Lisa can pick anything she wants for our challenge.  I think she did a great job with her choice.

There are several ways to use masking on your card but I chose to actually mask an image.  Several times.

First I made a smooshed panel on watercolor paper with Distress Oxides.  I don't think the photo gives a good color representation of what I used, Speckled Egg, Weathered Wood and Iced Spruce.  I wanted something a little solemn for a sympathy card.  The flower is from Fabulous Florets by Altenew and the sentiment from their Wildflower Garden.

I want to say thank you to our two wonderful guest designers for this month: Carol McFarland and Melanie Hungerford.  Please see their final cards and those of the rest of the Design Team for inspiration for your card.

Just Us Girls #551 - Wild Card Week

Five Saturdays means we have a Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls.  Carol has picked this as her wild card.

I know you all have some kind of butterfly stamp or die so I expect a lot of entries into the challenge.  As for me, this is what I did.

The butterfly was cut from a Memory Box die and lightly colored with Distress Ink.  I traced around the die on vellum, cut it out and glued to the die cut  The flower is from PinkFresh Studio and was dabbed with Distress Ink too.  Both were placed on a gray panel after the Altenew sentiment was heat embossed.

I can't wait to see what our guest Lisa Elton and the rest of the Design Team made. Won't you go take a look too.  I'm sure you will be inspired.

Thanks for dropping by.

Just Us Girls #538 - Wild Card Week

When it's Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls the host gets to pick anything to challenge us and Sue has picked
I've been trying to use more of my patterned paper so this was a fun one for me.
The papers are from a 7 year old pack from Pink Paislee.  I was hoping it would work for a masculine card even though the colors are pastel-y.  The middle panel was cut with Postage dies from HoneyBee and the hexagon from a PinkFresh die and stamped with an Altenew sentiment.  Both are popped up on fun foam.

Now it's time for you to pull out some of your hoarded wonderful patterned papers and make a card for the challenge. The Design Team and our guest Deborah Frings have inspiration for you on the blog.  Speaking of Deborah - it's her last week with us.  I want to thank her for all the creative projects she showed us this month.

Just Us Girls #525 - Wild Card Week

It's Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls which happens when there are 5 Saturdays in a month.  For that challenge the host gets to pick whatever they want for inspiration.  Nancy has picked this:
I went back and forth about how to go about doing this but ended up with a basic inlay on a CAS card.
The flower is from MFT and the sentiment die from SSS, both colored with Zigs.  I inlaid them in linen cardstock and added the secondary sentiment.

What will your inlaid die cuts look like?  For inspiration check out what the Design Team and our guest designer Betty have done and enter a card in our gallery.  You may be a future guest designer.

Just Us Girls #516 - Wild Card Week

Whenever there are five Saturdays in a month, Just Us Girls has a Wild Card challenge.  This week it's Vicki's turn to decide what we will do and she's chosen
That's right people.  You can do whatever you like and enter it in our challenge which will run for the entire month of December.  I added to my Christmas stash with this card.
I borrowed  this Amaryllis by EbE from Michele when we were at the cottage.  I colored it with Distress Inks, added a sentiment from PTI and mounted it on DSP.

The Design Team has some creative cards for you to see on the blog.  They hope to inspire you to make a card for our last challenge of the year.  Since you have this entire month to enter cards, we expect to see a lot of you in the gallery. ;)

Just Us Girls #503 - Wild Card Week

It's Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls which happens when there are 5 Saturdays in a month.  Sue is our host and she chose this to inspire us.
You can use a splash image or actually splash anything in liquid form onto your card.  I chose the latter.
I watered down Distress Oxides and splashed them in rainbow order on my card.  The sentiment from Altenew is heat embossed on a strip of black to which some Altenew flowers are added.

I hope you'll check out what the design team has splashed onto their cards.  This is the last week for our guest designer, Tristan Dawes.  It has been a privilege having you with us, Tristan.

ETA: With Anita's encouragement, I'm sending my rainbow splash card to Time Out for their 'Inspired by Words' challenge.

Just Us Girls #494 - Wild Card Week

It's Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls and Ina wants us to make a card with a fancy fold.
There are many ways to make a card for this challenge and you'll see a number of them that the Design Team and our guest designer Marlena have made over on the blog.  This is Marlena's last week and I want to thank her for all the terrific cards she has made this month.

I made a bridge card following directions from Jennifer McGuire.
The card base is patterned paper from PB, the 'bridge' is from C9 and the sentiment is from HoneyBee.  I cut the outline from vellum and colored it with DI.  Here's another view.
The card folds flat and fits into a standard A2 envelope.
Now it's your turn,  We'd love to see what kind of fancy fold you use for your card.  If you are chosen Chic of the Week, you could be our next guest designer.

Just Us Girls # 481 - Wild Card Week

It's Wild Card week at Just Us Girls and the option Sue chose for us is
I know you all have some so there's no excuse not to make a card for our challenge.  The Design Team and our guest designer Greta have some wonderful inspiration for you and here are the details of mine.
I had been wanting this Altenew Garden Picks die set for quite a while and took advantage of a Blitsy 60% off sale to buy it. It came just in time for me to make this card.  I die cut all the pieces from watercolor cardstock and colored them with Distress Inks.  The background is a quilted embossing folder and it's on Soft Stone cs, using the same for the sentiment.

We hope to see you in the gallery.  You may be our Chic of the Week and a future guest designer.
