Freshly Made Sketches #751 and NBUS #89

My friend Michele is the host at Freshly Made Sketches and has given us a great sketch to base our cards on.  I made another Halloween card.

I wanted to do something other than squares and the NBUS Penny Black Ripple frame die was on my desk and I used the centers to put my image and sentiment on.  The bat from Unity's Creep it Tweet was stamped on light gray and edged with Black Soot.  The sentiment from the set is white heat embossed on darker gray, edged in white.  To add more fun, I glued the two circles together and popped them up with a paper square.  They fold to the right for mailing.

The first time with the dies and this image means off my card goes to Darnell's NBUS challenge.

Thanks for dropping by and spending a bit of your day with me.

Freshly Made Sketches #402

When I first saw the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches I thought leaves would be my go to image.  After receiving my Happy Hauntings from EBE I went in a whole other direction.
I think it follows the sketch pretty well and gets me started on my Halloween cards.  The spider border is from W&W.

Curtain Call, W & W Rerun, and The Challenge #45

I've been on a Halloween card making streak and to day I have two for three different challenges.  First up is for Curtain Call - Going Batty.
I masked the moon and then black embossed the two sizes of bats from W & W's Moonlight.  The sky is inked with Distress Inks and I liked the way the moon looked with ink over the edges of the mask so when I removed the mask I did a little more inking.  The sentiment from MFT is embossed in white on a scrap of black.  I wiped off the static powder before the sentiment was dry which left streaks that I quite liked.  This will be my second entry into the Winnie and Walter Moonlight Rerun.

Card number two started out with me inking up a Tim Holtz 'shattered' stencil in black on white just to see if it would look like a spider web.  It looked great but then how would I use it.  The Challenge to the rescue.
The circle, vampire and sentiment are from MFT and that black embossed spider from W&W.  I'm sure there will be more Halloween challenges before the end of October.  Can I come up with any new ideas?

I'm so glad you dropped by.  You're all 'fang-tastic'.

CASology # 163

The cue word at CASology this week is moon.  There are a lot of ways to go with that image but since I've been in Halloween mode lately, that's what I went with.

I masked off a circle for my moon and inked it with Unicorn White.  The ghosts from MFT are stamped with the same ink, then filled in with a Fantastix. I drew the eyes in myself. When the ink was dry, I black embossed the bat and added some eerie Liquid Pearl eyes.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches cut twice in orange and once in orange glitter.  I wish I could get as inspired to do other cards as I am for these Halloween ones.

Thanks for dropping by.  I appreciate your visits.
