Time Out #252

It's getting close to Christmas and Time Out would like to see your winter/holiday cards.

I got a new set from Memory Box at the Ellen Hutson close-out sale and thought it would be great for making multiple Christmas cards.  I sent out 17 to the homebound members of my former church and this will be great for their cards..

The image was heat embossed in gold and watercolored with Distress Inks.  The sentiment is from Sunny Studios.

This challenge is being sponsored by Birch Press.  The winner will be awarded a $20 store credit.

The Design Team and I hope you'll make a card for the challenge. It's a great chance to make those last minute Christmas cards.

Christmas Card Throwdown 4-23

It's week 4 of the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown and so far I've had one each week.  Today's card features their technique of paper piecing.  I keep forgetting to check the new challenge so this one was made on the fly to meet the deadline.

This Christmas angel from Woodware looks so cute paper pieced with scraps from my stash.  The face, hands, feet and hair plus the holly were colored with Altenew artist markers.  The sentiment is from Sunny Studio.  We haven't had sunny days lately so the photo is not the best.

Thanks for dropping by.

CAS Stencil May2020

I have quite a few stencils but not many with large images that I thought would work for the layered stencil request from CAS Stencil.  Then I remembered the one I had that came with a PB flower.
I inked the flower with Ripe Persimmon Distress Ink, masking off the flowers to do the stems.  Then I laid a mesh stencil over the flower and inked with Abandoned Coral.  I cut the panel and the Coral Reef border with an MFT die and added the sentiment from PTI to finish it off.

I'm glad you dropped by.  I love it when you do.

Just Us Girls #536 - Color Week

Another week rolls by and Lisa is our host for Color Week at Just Us Girls.
I've made a few tulip cards lately and that's what I thought of when I saw the challenge colors.
Using Distress Ink, I inked, spritzed and then stamped the blossoms and leaves.  A few black splatters and a sentiment from PTI finishes the card.

The Design Team and our guest designer Deborah have some colorful cards to inspire you.  Won't you make a card for our challenge?

Freshly Made Sketches #427

While eating breakfast this morning I had an inspiration for the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  Fortunately it was a QACAS card that I could do and make the deadline.
And it adds to my Easter stash.  Recipe: MFT stencil with Distress ink, cross from PS cut from wood cardstock and a sentiment from PTI.

Stay in, stay safe and stay sane.

Addicted to CAS #173

I'm your host this week at Addicted to CAS and I've chosen what I think is an appropriate word for this time of year.  Or anytime actually.
I made multiples of this Thanksgiving card to send to the homebound people of our church. Once I had it set up it was easy to do.
I used a maple leaf from a set by HA and inked, spritzed and stamped in five colors of Distress Ink across the top of my card then added the veins.  The sentiment is a combination of CP and PTI done in Cup o' Joe.

The Design Team has some wonderful cards for your inspiration.  I hope you'll check them out and then make a card for our challenge.  We will be blessed if you do.

Time Out #139

It's been  a while since I've posted a card other than my Design Team ones.  After a week at the lake I'm ready to get back into it until I leave again next week for a trip to Boston with my daughter.  Today's card is for Time Out and their "Inspired by Words".
I inked up the moon with Squeezed Lemonade before masking it to blend other Distress Inks onto my Bristol panel, then added stars with acrylic paint. Once I removed the mask I added a little shading and then stamped the wildflowers from MFT.  The sentiment is also from MFT.

Thanks for dropping by and virtual hugs if you leave a comment.

AAA #36, CASology #140, Curtain Call and JUGS #287

Happy Easter!!  I have a card today that symbolizes new beginnings, which happens to be the challenge at Curtain Call.  It also uses Easter colors as called for at AAA.

The branch from HA and butterfly from Memory Box are watercolord with Distress Inks.  The body is cut from silver paper and the sentiment from MFT is silver embossed.

This looks very Spring-like to me so it's flitting over to CASology and Just Us Girls who have Spring as their cue words this week.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful week.

MUSE #85 and NBUS #2

Marion Vagg has this beautiful card for our inspiration at MUSE this week.

I guess I could have done flowers but I wanted something different and since my order from My Favorite Things showed up on my doorstep yesterday, I had the perfect solution.

I had intended to do a single layer card but while trying out the stamps on scrap paper, they came out perfectly.  Why mess with perfection, I always say, so I fussy cut them.  The green berries are stamped directly onto the card with HA soft green and the sentiment with Memento Rich Cocoa.  The leaves are HA Butter Bar and Pale Tomato.

Since this is a new stamp set, I'm also entering this card in darling Darnell's NBUS #2 challenge.

This stamp set wasn't the only thing I ordered, and I also got my order of Penny Black stamps, so I will be entering more cards in this challenge, as soon as I get them made.  I'm off to do that now.

ETA: I just saw the challenge this week at AAA is fussy cutting, so I'm entering my card over there, too.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope your week goes well.
