Freshly Made Sketches #723

The sketch from Freshly Made Sketches has me going back to one of my older Concord and 9th stamp sets and a play with Zigs that I hadn't done for quite a while.

The Happy Day cake was stamped on Bristol, colored and die cut.  Though not the same size, I thought the cake plate looked like the oval in the sketch.  To emphasize that, the dark gray was cut with a SSS curved die, stamped with a sentiment from My Sentiments Exactly and embossed with SU Tasteful Textiles.  When June comes I need a number of anniversary cards so this will help fill my quota.

Thanks for dropping by and spending a bit of your day with me.

Inkspirational #310

Hey there friends.  I'm so glad you dropped by.

Inkspirational has a lovely pastel mood board that inspired this card.

If you look at the mood board below you can see I took one photo literally and made a card with the Pinkfresh Studio set called Celebrate in Style.  Two cakes and the flowers are all one stamp and it comes with stencils to color them.  I made a gold plate for the cake to sit on and put it all on a Spellbinder's label die, layered for dimension.  The background was embossed with SSS's Blossom Field.  I left off a sentiment so I can use it when needed for a variety of occasions.

Have a great day!

Just Us Girls #664 - CAS Week

One of the changes that Just Us Girls has made this year is to institute CAS Week in place of Trend Week.  We hope this will inspire those of you who like to make clean and simple cards to join the challenge.  This week the prompt chosen by our host Carol M is

The cake is from Celebrate in Style by Pinkfresh Studio.  It was a gift from a friend who was purging her stash.  While the cake stand looks brown in the photo it's actually silver.  Everything else was colored with Distress Inks.

I want to thank Jules Peddicord for being our guest designer this month.  Your cards were all spectacular, Jules.  If you'd like to be a guest, make a card for the challenge and if you're the Chic of the Week you have a chance to be chosen.

Addicted to CAS #178

Susan has chosen the code word for this week at Addicted to CAS.

I decided to use a Concord and 9th stamp for my card.
I stamped it off-center on Bristol cs and colored it with Zigs and Distress Ink.  All it needed then was the sentiment from Hero Arts for a CAS birthday card.

Will you make a cake card for this challenge?  The Design Team would like to see yours in our gallery.  Remember to make it clean and simple.

AAA Birthday #1 and Seize the Birthday #165

I promised that I would show the third of three cards I made for my triplet grandchildren's 21st birthday.  You can see Kyle's here and Abby's here.  This one is for Emily.
The cake and sentiment are from C9 colored with Zigs and Distress Ink.  The background is from HA embossed in my new White Satin Pearl ep on Bristol.

I'm sending this off to the new AAA Birthday challenge and to Seize the Birthday - without the option.

Thanks for dropping by.  I'm off to put them in the mail with a little something from Grandpa and me.

Time Out #112 and Less Is More #374

I have another entry in the Time Out challenge.  The one I posted yesterday seemed to fit but this is the one I made especially for their word "Warm".
The images and sentiment are all from SSS, colored with Inktense pencils.  I added some puffy embossing powder to the poms on top.

This next card is for Less Is More.  You may not believe this came from my "bits box" or what I call my WTDWT drawer but I colored it a long time ago and never made a card with it.
The cake from Concord and 9th was colored with Zigs and the cake color matched perfectly with the Cashmere cs from WPlus9.  Photo editing didn't do it justice because the leaves are more green and less blotchy than what you see here. The sentiment is one I've overlooked on a set from PTI.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope all my US friends have a wonderful 4th of July.

Addicted to Stamps and More #285

has a beautiful mood board for your inspiration.
I was fascinated by the cake and it inspired this.
The Concord & 9th image was colored with Zigs and then the panel mounted on some light blue cs.

There is a lot  to be inspired by in the photo but if you need more you can always visit the blog and see what the members of the Design Team made.  With all that inspiration we hope you make a card and enter it in the gallery.

The Heart Desires #15 and Where Creativity Meets C9 #12

One card, two challenges.  I love when that happens and it wouldn't have if Where Creativity Meet C9 wasn't having an Anything Goes challenge so I could send them the card I made for The Heart Desires. Their lovely mood board is below. Concord and 9th are celebrating their 2nd birthday so this card sends best wishes to them.
The cake and banner from Concord and 9th are colored with Zigs. The background is a stamp from Hero Arts embossed with WOW pearl embossing powder.  Here's a different angle so you can see the shine.

Thanks for dropping by.

Addicted to Stamps and More #195

It's photo week at Addicted to Stamps and More.  Doesn't this look like a party waiting to happen?  There are so many elements that you can use for your inspiration.

I went with the wonky cake from Sugar Pea Designs, bringing in the red and white stripes, the aqua and the polka dots.  The banners are from the same set as is the sentiment.  Both panels are cut with LF stitched rectangles with the top one popped up on foam.

You'll find a lot more inspiration over on the challenge blog and if you enter a card you have a chance to win some prizes.  Robyn's Fetishes is awarding three digital stamps from their store
and QKR Stampede are offering three digital stamps from their store.
We hope to see you in the gallery.
