Time Out Challenge #282

Ready for another challenge from Time Out?  Here it is.

That wonderful bag was created by Kim Heggins and she is offering it as a prize to the winner of the challenge.  All you have to do is make a card inspired by the bag.

I started by heat embossing through a snowflake stencil from Lawn Fawn onto black cardstock.  Next up are the mittens from EbyE embossed with a knit folder to add a red touch.  Last is a sentiment from MFT.

For more inspiration, please check out what our marvelous Design Team has to show you on the blog.

Color Hues #77

When you give me a longer time to make a card I'll probably wait until the end which I almost did for Color Hues.  They have a month long challenge in December and I'm just getting a card posted.

They want pink and silver and this is what I came up with.  The pinks of the mittens from EbyE and the snowflakes from Lawn Fawn are actually a closer match than it shows in the photo.  I added silver snowflakes and a cuff to the mittens before running them through a burlap embossing folder from Honey Bee.  The snowflake stencil also has a layer of Nuvo glimmer paste on it.  The silver embossed sentiment is from Penny Black.

Thanks for dropping by.

Time Out - Inspired By Words - 1/28/21

That's right! I am the guest designer at Time Out for their "Inspired by Words" challenge and am honored and excited to do so.  Here are the words and you can use any part of them to inspire your card.

I had to think about this a while and consider what stamps and dies I had that would make a great card. This is what I came up with.

No book but I curled up the mittens around a warm cup of cocoa to ward off the winter cold.  The EbyE mittens were cut from gray cardstock and embossed with a knitted folder. I added some inlaid snowflakes from MFT. The cup from Memory Box is cut from a Brusho piece I found in my scrap box, stamped with a sentiment from Sunny Studio.  All of this was added with foam tape to a snowy embossed background.

I hope you'll check out how the wonderful Time Out Design Team has been inspired and join in the challenge.

CAS Christmas -November Reminder

There's still time for you to make a card for CAS Christmas where I am guest designing this month.
When I saw the theme I first thought of mittens that keep your hands warm and cozy in the cold winters we have here in Michigan.  If truth be known, the other reason I thought of it was because I have a mitten die.  I couldn't think of any stamps I had that depicted warm and cozy to me.
The PP was in a pack I bought last year at Target.  The EbE mittens were die cut and embossed with the RG Knitted Pattern folder to make them look more realistic. The sentiment is computer generated and the panel embossed with the SU Softly Falling folder.

Have you made a card for CAS Christmas yet?  As my mother would say "Better get cracking."

Time Out #112 and Less Is More #374

I have another entry in the Time Out challenge.  The one I posted yesterday seemed to fit but this is the one I made especially for their word "Warm".
The images and sentiment are all from SSS, colored with Inktense pencils.  I added some puffy embossing powder to the poms on top.

This next card is for Less Is More.  You may not believe this came from my "bits box" or what I call my WTDWT drawer but I colored it a long time ago and never made a card with it.
The cake from Concord and 9th was colored with Zigs and the cake color matched perfectly with the Cashmere cs from WPlus9.  Photo editing didn't do it justice because the leaves are more green and less blotchy than what you see here. The sentiment is one I've overlooked on a set from PTI.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope all my US friends have a wonderful 4th of July.

CASE This Sketch #248

Sometimes the sketches at CASE This Sketch stump me, mainly because I'm trying to think out of the box.  I'm not very good at it but I keep trying.  This is the sketch.
And this is my interpretation.
The background uses up some of my patterned paper while I stamped the pattern on the MFT mittens with a stamp from SSS.  There's no need for a sentiment when it's already on the paper -  and in the right spot.  Yay!

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope your week is off to a good start.

Casology #225

I was itching to use a NBUS embossing folder and  CASology  provided the perfect challenge - soft.
A cable knit sweater and warm woolen mittens and hat are soft to me. They're watercolored with DIs with snow marker added to the fur for a puffy look.

I'm glad you dropped by for a visit.

CAS(E) This Sketch #151

I veered a little from the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch.
I stamped, die cut and colored the images from SSS with Zigs, adding a little WOS to the white areas. I love how it turned out.

Fusion - Merry Christmas

If you had seen my work surface this morning, you would have screamed.  I played around last night and left it all to go to bed.  I was working on two cards and there were some problems that I will be correcting today so those are cards for future posts - ones that expire earlier than the one I have today.  I hope I get them done in time.

Today's card is for the Fusion Card Challenge but I used only the sketch.

I got the darling stamp and die set from SSS called Winter Warmth and Warm Wishes and was itching to use them on a card.  The hat and mittens are from scraps that I stamped with MFT burlap to make them look knitted.   The DP is from Glitz and the sentiment from Hero Arts.  I did a little Distress inking to give it a vintage look.

Thanks for stopping by.
