Inkspirational #349

I knew when I saw the challenge at Inkspirational that I was going to have to get creative.  I didn't bring any tag dies with me, or any thread/ribbon.  I went scrounging and found some heavy twine and that meant I needed to make a rustic card.

I cut the pine cone and greens from Honey Bee's Winter Foliage and then pondered what to make the tag from.  Spellbinder's Four Petal Nesting Dies to the rescue.  I used a small circle die from another set and a tag was born.  And why not make a shaped card while I'm at it so I cut the larger size Petal die, inking the edges of both with Rocky Shores.  It needed more so I added the PB script in the background before popping up the tag. The sentiment is from Altenew.

I'm so glad you dropped by.  I love your visits and your comments.

Inkspirational #348

The challenge at Inkspirational is Clean and Simple with the option of flowers.  You know I had to make a card 1. because it's flowers and 2. because I was honored with a top pick in the last challenge.

Any one who reads my blog knows I love daisies and this one from SSS is called Sunrise Stem, cut in white and colored with Distress Inks.  White space doesn't have to be white so I put it on a yellow background embossed with a plate from STAMPlorations.  The sentiment is from BetterPress.

Edited to Add:  I just saw the challenge at Krafty Chicks and am going to send this card to their CAS Challenge #782.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a wonderful week!

Inkspirational #347

I kept looking at the mood board at Inkspirational until I finally had an aha moment.  Concord and 9th's Eclectic Garden was the answer.

The flowers were cut from white cardstock and colored with Altenew inks in colors from the board.  For the background I used my smooshy tool to make a smooshed background using some of the same colors, then cut it with Honey Bee's Deckle Edge.  The sentiment is from SB BetterPress.

So glad you stopped by for a visit.

Freshly Made Sketches #696, Inkspirational #346 and Seize the Birthday #310

It was hot and steamy yesterday so I stayed in and made a card for Freshly Made Sketches.  Since it was a birthday card, I'm also sending it to Inkspirational and Seize the Birthday - without the topping.

It all started with Concord and 9th's Birdhouse Blossoms.  I went looking for some patterned paper for the background, found one from Honey Bee and based my bird and house colors on it and added a heat embossed sentiment from Hero Arts.

Thanks for dropping by.  Happy TGIF.

Inkspirational #345

The Inkspirational theme is three of the same and so daisies it is.

The funny thing is I went to my secondary Facebook page and this same design came up.  I searched my blog and saw I made one like it in June of 2023. The only difference was in the color of the background, the color of the basket and where the sentiment was placed.  The daisies are from TH Wildflowers, cut from watercolor paper and colored with Distress Inks.  The basket from The Greetery was cut in silver and backed with vellum.  The light blue background is embossed with the Timeworn Type folder.  The sentiment from The Greetery was added to a silver stick and bracket.  I guess a good design bears repeating. 😉

Thanks for dropping by.

Inkspirational #344 , Addicted to Stamps and More #495 and Darnell's IDEAS

This is  my second entry into the Inkspirational Challenge - this time using their option of geometric.

I took advantage of a Pinkfresh Studio sale to get this free Garden Trellis stencil and die cut.  The background was stenciled with Altenew Nature's Wonders inks and layered with the die cut in gold.  For the sentiment I cut the die from C9 in gold and layered it with dark brown.

I'm also sending this to Addicted to Stamps and More who are asking for stencils and/or die cuts and I have both on my card and to Darnell's IDEAS, 5th Monday stencils.

Inkspirational #340 and Krafty Chicks # 767

Inkspirational has a seasonal challenge and since I'm behind on my Christmas card making, that's the season I went with.  Christmas also happens to be Krafty Chicks rotation this time.

Susan from Cardmaker's Garret entered this card in the Christmas Kickstart challenge and I loved the vintage feel of it so I CASEd it.  Ivory cardstock from Gina K was cut with Honey Bee's Deckle Edge die and stamped with the poinsettia from Altenew.  The flower was masked to stamp the script background from Penny Black in Antique Linen DI and the panel edged with the same ink.  The poinsettia was watercolored with Distress Inks in Barn Door, Rustic Wilderness and Fossilized Amber.  I was amazed at how well the cardstock took the watercoloring. I did try it out with a scrap in advance. 😌The sentiment is from a freebie SSS, stamped in Altenew Almond Butter.

Thanks so much for dropping by.

AAA Cards #285 and Inkspirational #336

Even with all the other things I do and techniques I try on my cards, I still like the occasional clean and simple card.  AAA Cards is always CAS and this challenge has the twist of Spring Colors.  Inkspirational is also having a CAS challenge ( I omitted the twist) so off my card goes to both.

The flowers are Beautiful Blooms from Pinkfresh Studio.  There are six different images and accompanying stencils and dies in the set.  I did a number of them a while ago and just picked three to add to my card.  The sentiment is also from PFS.

Thanks so much for dropping by.

Inkspirational #335 and NBUS #71

Inkspirational has a beautiful mood board for challenge #335.

I saw hyacinths but since I don't have any I thought lilacs would work as well so that's the direction I took.  It's the first time using that die so my card is also going over to NBUS.

The lilacs are from The Greetery, cut from white PTI cardstock and colored with Altenew inks.  The background is The Greetery's Shiplap Builder.  I've had it in my Bits box for quite a while after trying a technique I saw Betsy do on You Tube.  I can't remember exactly how I did it so I'm glad I have the video saved to try it again.  You may want to try it too.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a great day!

Color Hues #103 and Inkspirational #334

Color Hues is collaborating with Inkspirational for a red and pink challenge. If you link up to one, be sure to also link to the other.

In the summer of 2017 a challenge called CAS Mix-Up was in full swing (unfortunately it closed) and their technique was to use tissue paper.  Here is a link to Loll's video.  I made a card for that challenge but had this background left over in my Bits Box. I trimmed it down and added to a Soft Stone card base.  The same color was used for the SSS die cut sentiment and part of one from MFT (hugs).  The Sketched Heart from SSS was cut from white foil from Concord and 9th.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a great weekend.

Inkspirational #333

There's a snow theme over at Inkspirational and with all the snow we've had I thought it would be fun to make a card.   It's way more fun than tromping through it or even worse shoveling it.

I brought Stump out to play again.  I'm glad you can face him different ways and I only had to do a little surgery on his scarf to make that work.  I also must confess he had a little nose job too.  😉 The tree is from Honey Bee, layered white on dark green.  It all started with PB's Classy Frames, cutting it from blue and then twice from white.  A little splatter helped get the snow falling before putting it all together.

Thanks for dropping by.  May all your bad weather be on cards.

Inkspirational #332

When a challenge asks for a quilt you can be sure I'll be making a card for it.  I had several ideas but for Inkspirational I went with Grandmother's Flower Garden, or a semblance thereof.

Scraps of patterned papers fill the hexagons on the PTI coverplate, which has been applied to copy paper with double sided sticky sheet.  A little hugs die from SSS layered for dimension finishes it off.  When  you cut a coverplate and only use part of the image, it leaves you with plenty of leftovers.  And you know what leftovers mean.  A twofer.

The original cut of the coverplate slipped so I had to trim it down which gave me the chance to add a border.  This time I used the yellow print from the center of the first quilt for the outside and added a prayer die from SSS.

Julia from the Design Team mentioned posting a quilt that inspired our cards.  While I do have one, I'm showing the quilt I just made for my granddaughter who is expecting her first baby in March.

The striped fabric around the center is from her graduation quilt and the four plaid squares are leftovers from her baby quilt.  I gave it to her at a baby shower that was held on Saturday.  I'm just glad I found a long-arm quilter to get it done in time.

Thanks for dropping by.  I love sharing my cards with you.

Inkspirational #329

Even though my Christmas cards are ready to go, I'm still making them.  I didn't do many Santa ones but Inkspirational is looking for him so I finished up a card that I found in my Bits Box.

The panel had been inked and stamped on the top half of the card only so I cut it down with MFT's wonky rectangle and popped it up on a panel of navy that was embossed with the SU Falling Snow folder and lightly inked with Cloud White from Altenew. Santa is from Catherine Pooler and the sentiment is from Penny Black.

Thanks for dropping by.  How are you coming with your Christmas cards?

Inkspirational #328

I have another card made with the PFS ornaments that had been colored last year.  This one is for Inkspirational - Layer It!

The gray background was embossed with Spellbinders Evergreen and Penny Black's Classy Frames layered onto it three times with the top one in silver.  The center was inserted back in for a backdrop for the ornaments and the branch from TH.  The silver embossed sentiment from PFS is also layered for dimension.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope your week goes well.
