Just Us Girls #751 - CASE the Designer

Five Thursdays in October brings us to another CASE the Designer challenge at Just Us Girls.

There is a wide variety of cards for you to choose from among the Design Team makes.  Here's mine.

The Tim Holtz Skeleton Leaves were cut in white and colored in a variety of Distress Inks to give an Autumn vibe.  The background is PTI Fine Linen embossed with the Subtle folder and an Altenew label cut in rust was stamped with a Jillian Vance sentiment.

We hope to see your card in our gallery.

Color Hues #97

I combined Honey Bee's Crate and their Fall Bounty dies with the colors at Color Hues to come up with this card.

The background is a stencil from TCW using Crushed Olive over a mustard yellow cardstock and the sentiment is from Jillian Vance.  Thank goodness you can use a neutral because that brown was needed to add contrast.

Thanks for dropping by. I hope you come back tomorrow for a couple of my Design Team cards.

Color Hues #74 and NBUS #55

While at the lake I was playing around with my Honey Bee's Autumn Bouquet.  I haven't finished that card yet but thought the set would be perfect for the challenge at Color Hues - yellow and kraft.

The rattan basket is also from Honey Bee and it was cut from Desert Storm and inked with Gathered Twigs.  The other die cuts were colored with Altenew inks in shades of yellow and kraft.  The background DSP is new from Honey Bee and the sentiment is from Jillian Vance.

All this newness means I will send my card to NBUS where Darnell encourages us to add our cards made with Never Before Used Stuff.

I'm so glad you dropped by.  I love reading your comments.

Just Us Girls #657 - Word Week

I'm hosting the Word Week challenge at Just Us Girls and the word is

I don't think this is a word we've used before and I don't know what was on my mind when I chose it.  Then I couldn't find the die I 'knew' I had to make my card.  In searching I found a cut that I ended up using but I don't know where it came from.

I cut a white panel down, stamped the Jillian Vance sentiment and embossed it with the SU Subtle folder.  The pumpkins from SSS and grass from Gina Marie were arranged with the fence on the panel and then mounted on some leafy patterned paper.  I'm sure this is not what I was planning when I chose the word but I think it turned out great.

You must have some kind of fence in your crafting stash.  I hope you'll pull it out and make a card for the gallery.

Color Hues #27 and Mod Squad

'Pumpkins, Pumkins Everywhere' is the theme at Mod Squad, where my friend Judy is hosting, so I decided to make a card for them that also fits the Color Hues challenge of orange and green.

I stamped the Honey Bee pumpkins and leaves on patterned paper and added them to a panel that was embossed with the Subtle folder and stamped with a sentiment from Jillian Vance. I paper pieced the stems and popped up the middle pumpkin.  This was so much fun.

Thanks for dropping by.

Inkspirational #195

I was lucky enough to be one of the top picks for Inkspirational's last challenge with this card and true to my policy of always entering the challenge following a win, I'm making a card for the current challenge.

Several things came to mind but it settled on crops in the field and right now I think it's winter wheat time in Michigan.
Here's a better view of the shine I got from splattering three different Perfect Pearls.  I never think to use them like that but was reminded by someone recently on a blog post.
The stalks of wheat are from C9 and the copper embossed sentiment is from JV.

Thanks for dropping by.

Little Red Wagon #419

Little Red Wagon has a harvest theme this week and although I have all my Thanksgiving cards done I had to enter since my card was featured in last week's challenge.
The PB image was colored with Inktense pencils and mounted on some paper to match the ribbon.

Thanks for dropping by.  I love it when you do.

Less is More #343 and CAS(E) This Sketch #236

I have some wooden items that have been gathering dust and was glad to put one to use for the challenge at Less Is More - Use a real object on your card.
I started by smooshing a panel with DOX inks, popping it up on fun foam and adding my burlap covered wood leaf and a sentiment from Jillian Vance. A little hemp bow covers a hole in the leaf.

I used the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch so I'm sending this as my second entry into their gallery. I told you it was a good sketch. ;)

ETA:  This card won an honorable mention at CAS(E) This Sketch.

My heart and prayers go out to the residents of Texas and Louisiana who have been devastated by Hurricane Harvey.
