Color Hues #121

Well, a snowstorm hit us overnight.  It's a good time to stay in and do some crafting along with the laundry.  I made my card for Color Hues a while ago but just getting around to posting it.  It may be the wrong season now. 😕

This card is compiled from a variety of stamp companies which shows how well they work together.  Concord and 9th basket (Freshly Picked), SSS Stitched Pumpkins, Spellbinders Falling Leaves embossing folder on Spicy Yogurt cardstock from Altenew, and Honey Bee sentiment from Sweater Weather.   Now if Autumn were only back again.  😉

Thanks for dropping by.

Just Us Girls #793 - Mood Board Week

I'm the host for Mood Board week at Just Us Girls and this is the photo I found that inspired me.

And a closer view

Sometimes I'm sure you wonder which comes first, the card idea or the photo.  In this case I knew I had just the right die sets to use when I saw the picture so I went with it.  What do you think?

PTI's Vintage Lantern is the main focus of my card, heat embossed with steel embossing powder to give a metal look.  The pumpkins are from SSS, the berries from Honey Bee's Holiday Florals, and the background from a woodgrain paper pack.  You can't tell but the candle is from a WF die and cut in C9 glossy paper - no flame on this one.

Our guest Jaydee and the rest of the Design Team have some wonderful cards based on the mood board that they want you to see.  Please go check them out.

Just Us Girls #701 - Word Week

It's Word Week at Just Us Girls and our host Lisa E has chosen this:

Perfect for this time of year when we see fields of pumpkins just ready for the picking and carving.  I went non-Halloween with my card.

One year we made an altar decoration for Thanksgiving with letters on white pumpkins so I duplicated that on my card in miniature.  The pumpkins are from SSS, the letters from Memory Box and the background is some patterned paper from my stash.  I love that rustic look.

Our guest designer extraordinaire Bonnie Klass and the rest of the team have pulled out their best pumpkin ideas to inspire you.  We hope you join us in the gallery.

Just Us Girls #657 - Word Week

I'm hosting the Word Week challenge at Just Us Girls and the word is

I don't think this is a word we've used before and I don't know what was on my mind when I chose it.  Then I couldn't find the die I 'knew' I had to make my card.  In searching I found a cut that I ended up using but I don't know where it came from.

I cut a white panel down, stamped the Jillian Vance sentiment and embossed it with the SU Subtle folder.  The pumpkins from SSS and grass from Gina Marie were arranged with the fence on the panel and then mounted on some leafy patterned paper.  I'm sure this is not what I was planning when I chose the word but I think it turned out great.

You must have some kind of fence in your crafting stash.  I hope you'll pull it out and make a card for the gallery.

Inspired By #190

I love white pumpkins and have a couple on my mantle.  I made paper ones for the challenge at Inspired By using both the photo and the sketch.  That's becoming a habit with me. ;)

The pumpkins are from SSS, the sentiment from EbyE, and the background paper from a Honey Bee pack. Love that pun.

Thanks for dropping by.

Color Hues #27 and Mod Squad

'Pumpkins, Pumkins Everywhere' is the theme at Mod Squad, where my friend Judy is hosting, so I decided to make a card for them that also fits the Color Hues challenge of orange and green.

I stamped the Honey Bee pumpkins and leaves on patterned paper and added them to a panel that was embossed with the Subtle folder and stamped with a sentiment from Jillian Vance. I paper pieced the stems and popped up the middle pumpkin.  This was so much fun.

Thanks for dropping by.

Just Us Girls #560 - Wild Card Week

Yes, it's Wild Card Week at Just Us Girls which means there are 5 Saturdays and on that day the host can pick whatever she'd like for the challenge.  Angie is our host this time and she chose Word Die Cuts.

I decided to camouflage my die cut word.
The Penny Black pumpkins were stamped on Bristol and colored with Zigs. I cut the Catherine Pooler die from the middle and from three orange pieces, layered them and put them back in place.

The Design Team and out guest Karen Walker would love to see how you use a word die on your card.  It doesn't have to be hidden like mine. ;)   I want to thank Karen for being our guest this month.  I have enjoyed seeing all her beautiful cards.  If you enter our challenge, you may have a chance to be a guest.  I hope we see your card in the gallery.

Color Hues #4

I stuttered a bit before making a card in orange and blue.  That's what the new challenge at Color Hues is asking for and I wanted to make a card for them.  For orange I immediately thought of the variety of pumpkin stamps and dies  that were adorning my desk.  But what about the blue?  All I needed to do was add a sky.

I inked the panel with Distress Oxide, spritzed it and then cut it with the Nordic frame from The Greetery.  The SSS pumpkins were cut from some snippets and added above the PTI sentiment.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you have a chance to get crafty today.

The Card Concept #122

I made this card a while ago to send to my great-granddaughter for Halloween and when I saw the inspiration photo at The Card Concept I thought it fit the challenge.
I saw a pile of pumpkins in my local WalMart that were in white, pale green and peach so that was my first inspiration.  Using a set from HoneyBee I colored and cut a variety of pumpkins and arranged them on my card front.  The sentiment is computer generated and to go along with that I added a flower to the peach pumpkin and although you can't see it they were both covered with WOS.  This completed my clean and layered card.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope your week is going well.

Just Us Girls #511 - Photo Week

I'm the host of Photo Week at Just Us Girls and since it's the end of October I thought this photo would be fun.
There are enough elements that you can chose to center your card around and it will be interesting to see where your focus lies.  For me it was the pumpkins, mainly because of my NBUS stamp set from HoneyBee.
I stamped the different sizes of pumpkins and leaves on Bristol and colored them with Zigs.  I arranged them on Neenah Desert Storm (don't ask me how long that took) and added the sentiment from PTI.

The Design Team and our Guest and former teammate Chris Dring have some outstanding photo inspired cards for you to see before making one of your own.  We'd love to see you in the gallery.

Inkspirational #196

When Michele and I had a crafting meet at my cottage, she had some orange paper that she wasn't liking very much and gave it to me to see if I could do anything with it.  Challenge accepted!  Then along came the challenge at Inkspirational and it is the perfect spot for my card.
The paper came to me with the hemstitch piercing already on it.  I thought white pumpkins from SSS with gold leaves and a gold embossed sentiment from CB would look lovely on the bright orange. Was I right?  Can't waste that paper. :D

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a wonderful day!

The Card Concept #100

Yes, you read that right.  The Card Concept is celebrating it's 100th challenge and they have an elegant photo to inspire us as well as some wonderful cards by the design team and their guests.
I was inspired by the pumpkins and the pink and gold theme.
The PB pumpkins were embossed in gold and then I used an embossing pen to add more gold to the bottoms.  A little Distress ink to add the color and a sentiment from PTI was all I needed to finish off my rather CAS card.

Twofer Challenge #10

The new Twofer Challenge is half over and I'm just getting around to posting my cards.  I don't have much in the way of harvest images so I did what a lot of other people did - went with pumpkins.
In this case pumpkin dies from SSS.  Four of the pumpkins had already been cut out last year and I found them inside the die envelope.  That made it easy to finish up the cards.

The patterned pumpkins were added to an irregular cut panel edged with Distress Ink, along with some stalks from C9.  The sentiment is from Jillian Vance and is for a Thanksgiving card.

For the Halloween card I cut a mask for the moon and inked the panel with Oxides.  The bats and jack-o-lantern faces are from W&W and the heat embossed sentiment is from My Craft Spot (OOB).

I'm busy making Halloween cards ( I need 9 for my grands and great-grands) and Thanksgiving cards for the church homebound (I need 14).  I'm getting there.  I also have two friends with Halloween birthdays so those cards are in the making too.

Addicted to Stamps and More #293

That's right.  It's the holiday challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More and it can be for any holiday.  I chose Thanksgiving.

I had this gingham background in my WTDWT drawer and thought I'd add a few patterned pumpkins.  To give it a more country look I put the sentiment on a tag and tied it with hemp.

Head on over to the blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has created.  We hope to inspire you to make a holiday card and enter it in the gallery.

Time Out #94

I've seen some very creative cards in the gallery at Time Out based on this photograph.
I'm not sure how creative my card is but it does include some of the design elements.
The stamps are from PTI's Jar series, stamped on Bristol and colored with Zigs.  The sentiment is from Jillian Vance.

It's rainy here today which makes it a good day to do some crafting in between loads of laundry.  I'm off to check some challenges.  Have a great day!

Addicted to CAS #122

It's my time to be the host at Addicted to CAS and the word I chose is appropriate for this time of year.

The PB pumpkins were stamped on Bristol cs and colored with Zigs.  The sentiment is from  Jillian Vance.

The sponsor for this challenge is Create a Smile and you can receive a €15 gift card if you are chosen the winner.  Head on over to see what the design team has made and get some inspiration for your own card.

We'd love to see you in the gallery.
