Addicted to CAS #181

Angie has chosen this for the next Addicted to CAS challenge.
There are so many ways to add texture to your cards.  I chose to use some gauze paper.
This is something I bought quite a while ago because I thought it was neat and have barely used.  I cut a strip of the gray and then added a die cut flower from SSS that was colored with Distress Inks and a blending brush. I decided to run the sentiment vertically along the side of the gauze strip.

The Design Team would like you to take a look at what they've made using texture.  They hope to inspire you to make a card for the challenge.

Time Out #155

This is the quote that Time Out has for our inspiration.
It was the end of the quote that caught my attention.  I bought a kindness set from Hero Arts a while ago and wanted to use it.  I also recently got the polka dot turnabout from Concord and 9th and this is what happened.
I used primary colors of HA ink, cut the panel with MFT's wonky stitches and mounted it on GinaK Lemon Drop cs. I stamped and cut around the sentiment but in retrospect I think the font is thick enough I could have stamped right over the confetti and would have liked it better that way.  A few hearts in the ink colors reinforce the sentiment.

I'm glad you dropped by.  It warms my heart when you do,

AAA Cards #127

I bought the Hero Arts Kindness set quite a while ago and I've only used one of the sentiments from it.  Today I used my favorite one for the challenge at AAA Cards.
I made a shaker including the letters KIND inside, cut from orange foil cs.  I also used that to cut the little confetti squares from an MFT die. The hearts are gold and you all know how hard it is to photograph anything gold.  Even at another angle they look black.

Thanks for dropping by.

Inspired by #27

It's been a while since I've played at Inspired By but the vintage linens caught my eye. I actually have a few that look just like these.

I had to cut a smaller panel to fit on my SSS background grid on the diagonal so I slanted it in the corner and added red roses from WPlus9.  The NBUS sentiment stamp is from HA.

Thanks for dropping by.

CASology #280

CASology is giving us two weeks for challenge #280 and guess who has her card done already.  I'm either way ahead of schedule or just squeaking in.  I guess it's whenever the inspiration strikes.
I just had to have that HA kindness set and this it's maiden voyage so to speak.  I paired it with a PTI botanical and embossed them both in - gasp - copper.  Not my usual but I wanted to do something different and that made me decide on an orange rose (for you Michele) that I colored with Zigs.

Thanks for dropping by whenever that happens to be during this busy holiday season.

The Card Concept #73

I almost didn't post this card.  I made it last minute for The Card Concept and am not very happy with it.
This looks a lot better in real life.  I had a difficult time editing it.  I used some old, old  DSP, over stamping the top panel with a script from PB, butterflies from HLS and CP and a sentiment from HA..  Here's the inspiration photo.

Thanks for dropping by.
