The Flower Challenge #99 - Reminder

There's still time for you to make a card for The Flower Challenge.

Pink is such a great color for flowers so I hope you are making one to enter our challenge.  Or maybe two if the inspiration hits.

The featured flowers are from Altenew's Garden Rose.  In the background is Altenew's Diamond Frame Cover Die  and the sentiment is Better Press from Spellbinders.

The Flower Challenge #93 - Reminder

There's still time to play in this month's The Flower Challenge and our birthday theme.

I used the Altenew Craft-Your-Life Garden Rose.  This set includes stamps, dies, a stencil and embossing folder.  The outline roses were stamped and the stencil used for the background with the layers stamped on top. They were die cut and place on the embossed panel.  The foiled sentiment was inked with the same yellow.

We hope you'll make a birthday card with lots of flowers on it and enter our challenge.  The Design Team has more inspiration for you.  Be sure and check them out.

Altenew April 2023 Inspiration Challenge

Today's card is for the Altenew April 2023 Inspiration Challenge.

Isn't that rose gorgeous?! I'm not sure mine can compete.

I used the Garden Rose Create Your Life kit, stamping the rose outline on white and stenciling the first layer with Crimson.  Next came the stamp layers in Ruby Red and Heart Beat. The leaves are also stenciled.  The background is the embossing folder that comes with the kit and the sentiment is from their One-Go Birthday Sentiments.

Wishing you all the best.  Thanks for dropping by.

The Flower Challenge #77 - Reminder

You still have time to make a card for The Flower Challenge using your latest stamps/dies.

I am really loving the die cut sets that allow you to build your own flowers.  I used one in the initial post and now I have another one.

This one is the Garden Rose from Altenew.  It's so much easier to start with colored cardstock when that's the color you want your flower to be.  I just darkened portions of it with ink for dimension and did the same for the leaves.  Altenew's Garden Rose embossing folder (from their CYL set) seemed destined for the background.  The sentiment is from Waffle Flower.

The rest of the Design Team has their latest stamps or dies on display for your perusal.  We hope they inspire you to make a card for our gallery.

Double D - 7th Birthday

Congratulations to Diane and Darlene as they celebrate 7 years at the Double D Challenge.  Since I make so many birthday cards I just had to send one to them.

The sentiment is from Penny Black while the rest of the card is made from Altenew's Garden Rose Craft Your Life Kit.  There is a stencil for the stripes, leaves and first layer of the roses.  Dimension was added to the flowers with layering stamps.

Thanks for dropping by.

Color Hues #55

Color Hues is starting the new year with some new Design Team members. It's great to see Marcia, Stef and Jules added to the list.

This week's challenge is light pink and gold and that brought roses to my mind and Garden Pick 3D dies to my desk.

I started by smooshing some Spun Sugar DI to a panel and then added Winterberry Mica Spray in areas for the darker color.  The same spray was used to make the border.  The leaves were cut from two different golds and one was used for a secondary border behind the white panel embossed with SU Timeworn Type.

Thanks for dropping by.  Please leave a comment so I know you were here and also your blog information so I can return the favor.

Just Us Girls #624 - Color Week

It's the third week of March and time for the Color Challenge at Just Us Girls.  Our host Lisa E has chosen

Such lovely colors prompted me to make this.

The WPlus9 roses took three different ink brands to get this look.  Altenew Pink Diamond, Catherine Pooler Pink Champagne and PTI Autumn Rose.  Autum Rose is also the border color.  Gina K ivory cardstock was embossed with a 3D diamond folder from WeRMemorykeepers and the sentiment was cut from a PinkFresh die.

What do these colors inspire in you?  The Design Team and our guest JoAnn Burnham will show you what they did when you visit the Just Us Girls challenge.  Then we hope to see your card in the gallery.

The Flower Challenge #64 - Reminder

There is still time for you to get your beautiful monochrome cards into The Flower Challenge.  The Design Team has more inspiration for you on the blog so I hope you'll check it out.

I went really simple with my card.

I embossed some PTI HIbiscus Burst with the Altenew Garden Roses 3D folder and then ran my HA Unicorn white ink over the raised edges.  It accents the dimension and gives a lovely glow to the card.  The sentiment from Altenew was stamped in pink and clear heat embossed on Lawn Fawn pearlescent vellum.

I look forward to seeing your card in the gallery.

Addicted to CAS #162

June seems to be wedding month (I have four anniversaries in my family) so it was such an appropriate word that Vicki picked for this week's challenge at Addicted to CAS.
I recently purchased the hemstich ovals (and circles) to go with my rectangles, and used them to make a place for my WPlus9 roses and the silver embossed Verve sentiment.  Damask embossing added some wonderful texture.

The Design Team has plenty of inspiration for you so please check out their cards.  We hope to see you make a wedding card and enter it in our gallery.

Inspired by #27

It's been a while since I've played at Inspired By but the vintage linens caught my eye. I actually have a few that look just like these.

I had to cut a smaller panel to fit on my SSS background grid on the diagonal so I slanted it in the corner and added red roses from WPlus9.  The NBUS sentiment stamp is from HA.

Thanks for dropping by.

Addicted to CAS #136

The code word for this challenge at Addicted to CAS was chosen by Ceal.
Since I lost my Mom two years ago I haven't made any Mother's Day cards and I don't usually send them to my daughter and daughters-in-law but this year may be the exception.
I started with a die from AliExpress. I stamped and embossed in silver the sentiment from Altenew and popped it up on foam.  The roses are from WPlus9.  I stamped a whole bunch of them one day and keep them in the stamp folder so they are ready at a moment's notice.  I need to do some in other colors too.

The Design Team has some wonderful cards for you to see over on the blog.  We hope it inspires you to enter a card.  The winner will receive a $20 voucher to Happy Little Stampers.

Inspired By All the Little Things #80

I had to look and think and think and look but I finally came up with a card for Inspired By All the Little Things.  This is what I was looking at
and this is where the thinking took me.

At first I tried the grid I saw on those wings but it didn't work out so I die cut a panel from TH and put it over some light aqua paper.  I added roses from WPlus9 for the flowers and instead of 'hello' used the 'enjoy' from SSS cut in gold foil.

Another week is beginning and my mind is full of card ideas.  Once they start they never stop until the card is made.  This addiction has a strong hold on me.  LOL.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you have a little crafty time this week.

CAS Mix-Up, CAS Watercolor, HLS Watercolor and Little Red Wagon #433

I have a second card for the CAS Mix-Up Challenge
I think this fun little owl looks great in cork. I colored the white of his eyes with a gel pen and his beak and talons with Distress Marker.  He's sitting on a branch die cut from real wood paper (my choice).  The sentiment was masked from a stamp that originally said "Howl are you?"

This next card is for CAS Watercolor ChallengeHLS Watercolor Challenge and Little Red Wagon..
The heart of roses from SSS was heat embossed in silver and watercolored with Distress Ink. The silver embossed sentiment is from PB.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope your week gets off to a great start.

CAS(E) This Sketch #254, The Card Concept #84 and Inspirational #152

It's not often I have a card that fits two challenges let alone three but today's card is one of those.

I had a productive day making these roses from WPlus9.  If you haven't seen this video that Dawn made on mass producing layered stamps you need to watch it.  It has been a life saver for me.  I made a ton of the flowers and leaves and then based my design on the sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch.  I also sat down one day with my Cricut and made a bunch of frames so they were ready when I needed them.  This one I heat embossed with pearl although it looks cream in the photo.  That's not the only thing that's off in the photo.  The sentiment is silver embossed and we all know how our cameras don't like shiny things.

While in the middle of creating I saw the challenges from The Card Concept
and Inkspirational.
Pink roses all around.  Plus some curvy lines and pearls.  A match made in blogland.

Thanks for dropping by.  I love it when you do.

Time Out #95, Less Is More #352 and CAS on Sunday #119

It's not often I have a card that fits three challenges so I'm feeling pretty good about this one.  It started as a sympathy card for Time Out (and I did use the optional twist of distressing). The flowers are layered stamps so that works for Less Is More and CAS on Sunday wants flowers.  Win, win.

I distressed the Cricut cut frame so it would show up a little more before realizing that was the Time Out twist. Serendipity I'd say. ;)  I love these roses from WPlus9.  They have four layers that are so easy to line up.  I did add a few dew drops to them just because I could.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope your week is off to a great start.
