Just Us Girls # 477 - Word Week

Vicki is our host this week at Just Us Girls and she has chosen a word that should fill our gallery.

I spent way more time on my card that I usually do but once I had the idea in my head I had to keep going.  It's all part of using neglected stamps.

First I wanted to do a text background with the sentiments from the MFT Stay Tuned set.  It takes a while and some practice to get those laid out correctly.  For once it wasn't MISTI but my trusty old Fiskars press to the rescue.  There was a mis-stamp near the top so I cut another piece of the Fog paper and stamped the sentiment in Red which I think worked out even better design-wise.  I couldn't just pop the TV on so I cut 4 layers putting the sentiment on the bottom and then adding acetate between the middle two. It looks great IRL.  This must be a rescue card because I knew I wanted the sentiment to say "It's Your Birthday".  Typing it into Evernote brought up the perfect one by EBE.

Just Us Girls #360

It's Trend Week and Lisa wants us to use sequins on our cards for Just Us Girls.  About the only time I use sequins is for a shaker card and that's what I did.

MFT provided the TV and sentiment while the paper and sequins came from my stash.

MFT''s television die triple embossed to give it that shiny tv look.  The screen is photo paper, which also has a shiny finish, inked with Peacock Feathers DI and stamped with Staz-on.

Addicted to Stamps and More #159

It's time for our Clean and Simple challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More this week;

My youngest son's birthday is tomorrow and I made this card for him.

I just had to have this stamp and die set from MFT when it came out and it's the first I've used it. Once I started cutting all the pieces I thought 'why not make a shaker card?' and it was the easiest one I've ever done.  Then, never one to leave well enough alone, I stamped the orange and blue stripe to match the color of sequins inside.  It's still CAS, though, and that's what the challenge calls for.
