Freshly Made Sketches #554

Time for another card for Freshly Made Sketches.

Santa is a cute little die cut from Spellbinders that I borrowed from a friend.  He's on some dark gray cardstock that goes with the printed panel from Echo Park. Using that piece meant I didn't have to add a sentiment. Now I'm wishing I'd cut more than one.

I'm glad you dropped by.  Have a great weekend!

CAS Christmas July 2022

I am way behind on my Christmas cards so I'm glad CAS Christmas is back in full force.  Today's challenge is Santa.  Who doesn't love to see that jolly old elf on their cards?

The Santa is from Rabbit Hole Designs - a prize I won from Less Is More's birthday celebration a while ago.  This is actually the third attempt to color him.  I started with alcohol markers but kept getting outside the lines. 😠 Then I tried Zigs but you know what happens when you add water to red.  So I finally pulled out my PolyChromos pencils.  I'm hoping the texture makes it look like a velvet suit. 😉  I layered up the panel cut with The Greetery's Crimped Frames, put those failed attempts under Santa to pop him up and added the sentiment from the set.

Did you see yesterday's post?  The floor is in and both of us are living to tell about it. 😁

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you leave a comment when you do.

Fusion - Christmas Ride

I had fun recreating the little scene for the Fusion Challenge.
Isn't that a sweet image?  Mine is a little different - more rural.
Ink blending courtesy of Distress Inks, houses and Santa from Catherine Pooler and sentiment from Happy Little Stampers.  They play together so nicely.

I hope all your holiday plans are coming together.

Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge - July

It's July already and time for another Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge.
Although I have only one Santa stamp I went with the twist.
I colored Santa from MFT with Inktense Pencils and mounted him on an action wobble over some ancient PP.

The winner of the challenge will be awarded a $20 GC to the HLS store and if you use their stamps on your project the amount will be doubled.

The Design Team is waiting to inspire you so check out their cards and then enter one of your own.

Happy Little Stampers Christmas - May

I can't believe it's May already and time for a new challenge at Happy Little Stampers Christmas.  This time the challenge is Anything Goes with the option of stars.

I went with the option.
The stars are from CPD and were heat embossed in white.  I tore a piece of copy paper for a mask at the bottom and inked a night sky with Distress Inks, then used the paper to make a few drifts in the snow.  Santa (from the same CPD set) and the sentiment from EbyE were stamped in Onyx Black.

The HLS Design Team has some wonderful cards for you to see.  Why not check them out and then make a card for the gallery.  You may win a $20 GC from HLS.

Merry Monday #283

Look at this cute photo.
At Merry Monday we are to add a puppy to our Christmas card.  Not having a specific Christmas puppy I had to improvise and I'm glad stamps from different companies work so well together.
I took the Santa and sentiment from MFT and added the little dog from PB.  Both are colored with Zigs.  For the background I used my Clarity brush to make a soft winter sky and then stamped it with a snowflake looking stamp from CPD in Fairy Dust.  I thought a little shine was needed so I embossed on some glitter.  I used texture paste to create a snowy ground and popped up the images.  I think that little pup is glad to hear that he can expect something good from Santa this year. ;)

You're all on my nice list too.

Little Red Wagon #422

I'm making gift card folders for my grandchildren and I finished one in time to send to Little Red Wagon.
I used the Lawn Fawn Magic Color Slider.  Jennifer McGuire has a tutorial here.
The images are from MFT, colored with Zigs, and the sentiment is from My Craft Spot.
The gift card attaches to the back of the slider.

One down and five more to go.

Thanks for dropping by.  I'll show you the others when they're done.

Merry Monday #266

The Merry Monday challenge wants to see Santa on our cards.  I only have two Santa stamps.  One is tiny to fit in a snow globe and the other one is on my card.
He's peeking through the window to see if everyone is in bed.  Actually it looks like he's tapping on the window.  I hope he doesn't wake the children.

Thanks for dropping by.  I love it when you do.

Merry Monday #246

'Twas the night before Christmas. . .  That's the theme for cards at Merry Monday this week.  Now skip down to the part about eight tiny reindeer and you'll have my card.
Those ME reindeer are so cute peeking out at MFT's Santa embossed in white and colored with Zigs.  At the end, Santa doesn't say 'Merry Christmas'.  He says "Happy Christmas to all and to all a good night" so I had to use that sentiment from CB.

Thanks for taking the time to drop by.

Muse: CV #76

This is my card for Muse: Christmas Visions
based on this card from Kimberly Wiener.
So my MFT Santa would look in the right direction I switched up the card a little.  Colored with Zigs, he's popped up on a panel with DSP behind.  The sentiment is from PB.  I'm so glad I'm getting a head start on my Christmas cards.

Merry Monday #230

Merry Monday mixed it up and asked for Scandinavian and/or Noel on your Christmas card.  Of course I had to do both.  This will be the card for my son, whom I appropriately named Eric, who embraces his Scandinavian ancestry to the hilt.  His daughters are Anneka and Kjerstin, his dog is Thor and previous pets were named Signy, Freya and Loki.  Fortunately he married a girl with Swedish ancestry too.
I colored my NBUS Santa with Zigs to look like Tomte and put him on a warm embossed sweater.  If I had God Jul dies I would have put it on the card but they asked for Noel so it worked out fine.

Thanks for dropping by.

Merry Monday #190 and Inkspirational #101

Whilst perusing some card challenges I saw the word Polaroid  on the Stamping Smiles Tic-Tac-Toe board and remembered that I bought the PTI Polaroid die a long time ago and never used it.  I made two cards with it, neither of them eligible for the TTT challenge. :(  First up is one for Merry Monday. You are to use a Santa and would you believe I only have one Santa stamp, and a little one at that.
Santa is part of a snow globe set by YNS and I colored him with Distress Inks.  I inked up the MFT brick stencil and tore a piece of white paper to act as snow on my chimney top.  The sentiment is also from MFT.

Inkspirational had this lovely photo for their inspiration.
I loved that frame behind the love board and used my Polaroid to get the same feel.

After ink smooshing some watercolor paper, I die cut and edged it with gold embossing.  The love from SSS is three layers with the top one stamped with the W & W wood panel.  I wanted the same gold for the heart so it is embossed and placed where I cut the 'O' out.  If you notice some dimension on the heart it's because I first embossed a floral design on white but didn't like it and rather than start over I just embossed over it. I quite like the results.  The texture in the background is from PTI's linen texture plate.

Thanks for dropping by and I hope your weekend is going well.

CASology #77 and Happy Little Stampers Sketch and Anything Goes

I originally made my card for Happy Little Stampers Sketch Challenge (see sketch below) but because I used one of their sentiments, I can enter it into their ongoing "Anything Goes" challenge, too.
The snowglobe and Santa are from Your Next Stamp, colored with Distress Inks, after embossing a few snowflakes with Sparkle ep.  I'm thinking this may qualify as a toy so I'm going to send it to CASology as well.

Dear Santa

I had several ideas for the card challenge at Mojo Monday.

I was definitely going to do the square card and decided to do it this way.

I thought the dark strips looked like a belt so I made one.  The buckle is cut from 'Tis the Season cartridge.  I used a black patent paper from a texture and finishes stack by DCWV for the belt and silver for the buckle.  I tore a strip of white and cuttlebugged it to look like Santa's fur.  The scroll is also cut from 'Tis the Season.  It actually looks better than I imagined.  I'm also entering this in Fantabulous Cricut - holiday card.
