Christmas Kickstart #109

I knew right away what I would do with the theme at Christmas Kickstart.

They want images wearing a hat and I couldn't think of a better one than Penny Black's Snowy.

I paper pieced his hat and scarf with some Gingham from Honey Bee and added Fluff it Paste to his brim and pom pom.  The background is a press plate from Spellbinders called Snowflake Shimmer and was pressed with Unicorn White on SB Celestial.  To keep Snowy from fading into the snow, I put him on a vellum Stylish Oval from SB.  The sentiment is from PFS.

Thanks for dropping by and spending a bit of your day with me.

Inkspirational #357

I would say that Inkspirational's theme is very appropriate.

The temperatures have been unusually cold in our area and across the country.  It's best to stay in and craft. LOL

It all started with Penny Black's Snowy who happened to be already colored and in the die package.  I cut three Snowflake Circle Frames from Memory Box, one in a glitter cardstock, and used an MFT circle slightly larger to cut the card front.  The glitter circle was layered on one and the other was used on the inside to give a finished look.  The inside was colored with Stormy Sky Distress Ink before adding Snowy, two glitter snowflakes and a snow hill.  The sentiment is from My Craft Spot which is one of the first stamp companies I bought from and has been out of business for some time.  Here's a look at the inside.

I think Snowy is the only one who doesn't mind this weather.  I mean look at that smile.

Double D - Snow

When I think of snow, which we have plenty of on the ground now, I think of Snowy, my favorite Penny Black snowman.  I had one all ready to go for the challenge at Double D.  You can see their moodboard below.

His scarf and hat are paper pieced and his brim has the same Wanderlust embossing powder as the edge of the torn snow.  The snowflakes, cut from Altenew Dazzling Diamond cardstock, are from the same set.  The sentment is also from Penny Black.  Doesn't he just make you smile?

Thanks for dropping by.  I sure do appreciate it.
