Inkspirational #351

Inkspirational has a mood board full of mushrooms so I got out mine from The Greetery and made a card.

The caps were cut from a scrap of red, shaded with Walnut Stain, and the stems were cut from Spicy Yogurt.  The trees are a TH birch tree die, inked with Hickory Smoke and layered onto some Spellbinders blue denim.  I left off a sentiment for the time being.

Thanks for dropping by.  I love your visits and comments.

Just Us Girls Challenge #757 - Word Week

Our host Sue has chosen Masculine for Word Week at Just Us Girls.

Masculine cards can be difficult cards to make and ones I usually need a lot of so I'm glad to get a nudge with this challenge.

I recently got this Take Wing set from Penny Black and I think it makes a great masculine card.  The two pieces were stamped on watercolor paper and colored with Distress Inks.  The sentiment is a Betterpress from SB.

The Design Team and our guest Annette have some masculine cards for you to see.  I  hope they inspire you to play along with our challenge.

Inspired By #192 and Two Old Bats Halloween - October

Inspired By has such a softly colored Halloween image this week but I'm afraid mine isn't.  I have all my cards made and didn't need any more so I'll post one I've sent.

It all started with an inky background and a die cut of birch trees from TH. I used ghosts from EH and MFT, drawing on my own faces so I didn't have a black outline.  I interspersed them through the trees and added a heat embossed sentiment from MFT.  If 'boo' is a requirement for the card, it's on the inside. ;)

I'm also sending this to the Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge. It's anything goes as long as it's Halloween.

I went with my daughter and her friend to a Witch's Night Out at a little shopping center last night.  If you wore a witch's hat you got a free glass of wine, which we did, and then had treats at some of the other stores including bourban balls, a blood drink and s'more snacks.  What a good way to get people into the darling little stores and have fun in the process.

Thanks for dropping by.  Have a great day!

CAS Watercolor - September

This card has been sitting on my desk waiting for me to post it but other deadlines got in the way.  Today's the day for you to see my card for the CAS Watercolor challenge.
I stamped the trees from Altenew's Birchland in Black Soot DI and ran my wide brush from the sides in to spread the color.  The trees were masked and the background painted with Distress Inks.  I wanted to frame the picture but the scrap of Bristol that I painted it on was too small to go under the PTI frame so I inset it.

I'm so glad you dropped by.  Have a wonderful day.

Twofer Card Challenge #6

Yes, that's right.  This month's Twofer Card Challenge wants to see trees on two cards for two different occasions.  Not having many tree stamps to choose from I made a couple of little scenes using Birchland from Altenew.
For the Spring card I masked the tree and inked the background with Distress Ink, stamping the leaves in the same green ink. The birdhouse and bird are colored with Zigs.
For the Fall card I stamped three trees with Gathered Twigs DI and watercolored them with the same.  I lightly washed the grass and sky and then stamped a variety of leaf colors in the trees and on the ground.

Thanks again for a wonderful challenge to stretch our stamps and our imagination.

MUSE #247, MUSE Christmas Visions #90 and Merry Monday #270

When I saw Kim's card for the MUSE this week I knew I had to play along with some of my NBUS.
Kim's Card
I started with some Bristol that I inked with Stormy Sky DI.  Next came the TH birch trees die and then the leaping deer from EH.  Instead of Rudolph and bells, I added holly and red bling to the deer's neck.  The sentiment from HLS is stamped on a tag from AE.

MUSE: Christmas Visions is looking for any holiday card and so I'm sending this to them as well as a second entry at Merry Monday where I used the first row vertical in their tic tac toe challenge.

I have more cards to post over the weekend but in case you don't get back here until after the holidays I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

Inspired By All the Little Things #56

Someone must have told Inspired By All the Little Things that I just got a bicycle stamp.  Now I can make a card inspired by their photo.
The difficult part was coming up with a different layout since so many people have a bicycle stamp.

I happened across a picture with a bicycle leaning against a tree and had an aha momemt.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you do enjoy the little things.
Stamps:  SSS Beautiful Ride, Altenew Birch Land
Ink: Distress Ink in Ground Expresso, Peeled Paint, Tumbled Glass, Black Soot and Iced Spruce
Die: SSS Beautiful Ride
Paper:  Range Watercolor

Muse: Christmas Visions #79

I have a card today for Muse:Christmas Visions.  They have gone to a monthly format but guess who still waits until the last minute to get a card made. ;)
Here's the Muse card by Natasha.
I went with a DI colored background, a tall object on the left side (the Altenew birch tree) and a bear from EE.  I used a stocking from MFT's Santa's Elves colored with Zigs to put in the bear's paws.  I thought the sentiment from My Craft Spot (closed) was so cute for this little bear waiting for Santa to fill his stocking.

Thanks for dropping by.

CASology #215

What do you think of when you hear the word "bark"?  My first thought is birch bark because I love the looks of it, on or off the trees. ;)  My card is in response to CASology's cue word this week.
The trees are from Altenew and the sentiment from Dare 2B Artzy.

I'm so glad you dropped by and I hope you leave a comment.  I love hearing from you..
